staggering psychological toll - destruction of homes, loss of jobs,

the midst of criminal and ethical misconduct. We are here because this

Congress continues to turn a blind eye to the wrongdoing of this

administration. In July 2003, over two years ago, a Bush administration

official committed one of the most serious breaches of national

security in

recent history by disclosing to the press the identity of an undercover

Central Intelligence Agency operative. Even worse, it likely was done

for political reasons, to retaliate against the operative's husband for

2,000 acres in Giant Sequoia National Monument, saying he questioned the

scientific analysis used to justify cutting in a preserve that houses

epidemiologist enlisted state police on a mission to break into a

government lab and destroy dangerous germs. Armed with bolt cutters and

lab, " and killed all the living samples.

 

 

Two Major Airlines File for Bankruptcy

Two of the nation's biggest and most troubled airlines, Northwest and

Delta, filed for bankruptcy protection. Filings by Northwest and Delta

mean that half the seats available on flights in the United States would

be operated by bankrupt airlines, according to an estimate by Standard

Union: LA Cut Corners with Utility Wages

upgrading the city power system during peak daytime hours because the

city was " cutting corners " and reluctant to pay higher wages at night, a
