Guest guest
DRSLETMEDOWN Fwd: HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got this e-mail & thought it needed to make it's way around the net so pass it on. What will our goverment do when we really take a hit ? My name is Deborah A. Lynch an evacuee from the New Orleans area. Like so many others I have lost everything and also my dire medical care and medication to keep me alive for a terminal illness. The state of Louisiana does not exist anymore not just the New Orleans area but for the bulk of all the evacuees that are still in the state. I relocated with in laws within the state applied for aid and NONE is available. Like many I have a dire emergency medical diagnosis in need of immediate specialized medical attention and medication which now does not exist. I am a organ transplant recipient of 4 years again with a terminal medical prognosis and running out of my 2 Rx's of anti-rejection meds that are keeping me alive at the present time. I am an established LSU - La St Univ. post organ transplant patient under the care of Dr. Luis Balart the medical director of New Orleans Transplant Institute that not only serves the New Orleans area but the transplant southern region for our area. It now does not exist along with the entire LSU medical system serving our transplant region for ALL patients. I contacted the main LSU Medical Emergency transplant number in Baton Rouge along with the main hospital emergency room and was told sorry their is nothing we can do for you, you need to wait and be seen along with everyone else even after advising them I have medical training assessed them professionally of my medical diagnoses, prognosis. serious complications I am now having and the dire need for immediate specialized medical attention by a Transplant Team of Dr's to save my life. I understand the stress and how overwhelmed the medical profession is now under but that does not excuse the lack of immediate medical care available and their final statement after asking them to please identify themselves with - name and title -- I was told - Have a nice day and they hung up on me. I tried to use a CVS national chain pharmacy in La outside of the devastated area on my own to refill my 2 anti rejection medications keeping me alive and the pharmacist refused to fill them even with it being a non-narcotic scheduled drug with refills available under Dr. Luis Balart a LSU physician and director of The Transplant Institute of New Orleans covered by and issued by the Medicare System of the United States that has already determined me to be a disabled 51 year old American that had worked full time for over 20 years for dire medical diagnoses and for dire continuation of medical care and all medical services. I am professionally educated enough to contact on my own the only Transplant Hospital left operating servicing not just New Orleans but the transplant region designated by UNOS - United Network of Organ Sharing the National Organization servicing the entire Untied States with Emergency By-laws in place to issue No Break In Continuity of Medical Care for transplant patients in need both pre and post transplant and the patients listed nationally in end stage diseases dieing while waiting and listed for a Life Saving Organ Transplant. It took hours but I spoke directly with the Emergency Transplant person on call in Shreveport La at the LSU Transplant Hospital and was told they are overwhelmed and have no idea what to do for me or for ALL the patients in need of immediate dire medical care including the patients that are now lost that are now listed for a life saving organ transplants and and for All that are in need of continuing medical care for our transplant region. I am one of the very few with enough medical background to do this on my own and have enough resources left to relocate temporary with the aid of my daughter who had to leave her 2 small children behind to relocate in San Antonio Texas with a good friend in the next Transplant Region for dire emergency medical care before I die. My next step this morning is to contact directly the Transplant Team located here in this region by bypassing the Official Emergency Medical System set up for evacuees now in place which is totally overwhelmed and will take to long and try and get the immediate medical care I need. I am writing this not only for me but for All the people now in need of immediate dire medical care that is NOT available and for so many that are completely lost. We as United States citizens belonging to the most powerful nation on earth are now dieing and are without even the simple necessities of life. I am writing this to make our nation and the general public aware of this and for my son who is a Police Officer in the New Orleans area a member of the S.W.A.T. Team stationed in New Orleans and the area to have a written record of this. Our government and All the Emergency Systems already, established and in place have Failed Us ALL. The general public have opened their arms - homes and hearts to us and the entire nation and the world feels our pain, sorrow, helplessness and this has taken a huge emotional toll on the world. This is just the beginning and it WILL get a great deal worse before it gets better. God Bless Us All. Deborah A.
