Guest guest
Dear Friends, This is what I wrote to the newspaper, The Hindu, published from Chennai, India. The newspapers publishing the report in India are turning down the letters on the subject claiming they are " too long " , therefore I decided to phrase this in as few words as possible. If anyone so desires he/she can use the matter to send similiar mails to the media. I predict that very soon we will have many concocted reports in the media seeking to tarnish the image of homeopathy. It is high time we all became proactive. Regards, Jagannath. Dt: 06.09.2005 Dear Sir, The Lancet report comes close in the heels of Prince Charles advising doctors in Britain to practice homeopathy for its effectiveness and savings to the exchequer. The report is flawed as only 8 trials on homeopathy were considered against 6 trials of conventional medicine without ascribing any reason to this small base. Moreover homeopathic principles of symptomatic treatment were not followed. The examination of the dilution process followed the Avogadro-limit principle, which ignores the fundamental paradigm of materials-science that the structure-property relationship is the basic determinant of everything. Therefore the informational content of water can be altered in infinite ways. The fact that homeopathy is adopted by veterinary doctors to treat animals should rule out the placebo effect ascribed to it. Animals and babies are not influenced by placebos. Homeopathy has already been proved by the WHO, based upon trials conducted over the past 40 years, which found it as effective as conventional medicine. Therefore Lancet has merely sullied its reputation by trying to malign homeopathy. Yours faithfully, Jagannath Chatterjee Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
