TSUNAMI of opposition to the FDA's CODEX Agenda and other

egregiously offensive policies as well as to the FTAA?

 

If I am the only one, I'll only get 4 minutes to speak, but

if SEVERAL of you JOIN me in each of these cities, we can

not only coordinate our presentations to really SLAM the FDA

hard and give 'em something to THINK ABOUT, but we can ALSO

have DEMONSTRATORS in front of the buildings where these

meetings will be taking place, if enough of you turn out to

help!

 

Another reason to attend is to MONITOR the so called

" Quackbusters " who always attend these meetings. These are allies

of the FDA's and it pays to learn what they're up to. They

always let their guard down and get really cocky at these

meetings because the FDA are their friends and we can expect

a bunch of them to be out in force urging the FDA to attack

the supplement industry and alternative medicine. Its very

important that we be there to COUNTER them.

 

We can ALSO use this as a way to get a jump on the FTAA,

before Congress has even dropped a bill, and we can send

PHOTOS of our demonstration to every member of Congress along

with WARNINGS to those who violated their OATHS by voting

for CAFTA that if they don't RECANT and admit they made a

MISTAKE, we're going to organize TIRELESSLY against them,

ESPECIALLY if they COMPOUND their error by ALSO supporting

FDA to Hold Public 'Conversations' in Three Cities

To help inform consumers about agency programs and to get

public

feedback, FDA is holding a series of three public meetings

called

" Vision 2006 -- A Conversation With the American Public. "

Discussion

topics include drug safety, direct-to-consumer advertising,

dietary

supplements, FDA's " Critical Path " initiative, and the

advisory

committee process. Meetings are scheduled for Sept. 13

(Miami), Nov. 2

(Boston), and Nov. 30 (Phoenix).

WHY ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO HELP WITH THIS & MORE INFO

 

 

The Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act of 1994

(“DSHEA”) is the only reason you have access to the dietary

supplements you enjoy. This legislation was passed in the face

of a direct FDA rulemaking effort which threatened to

destroy your access to supplements in the early ‘90s. Today this

legislation is under an unprecedented level of attack both

at the international level due to CODEX and global

harmonization of the laws via CAFTA and FTAA, and domestically,

with numerous bills pending in congress that threaten to

DESTROY DSHEA.

 

Please let me know if you can join me at a public meeting

scheduled by the FDA on

September 13th in Miami where I need your assistance to let

them know that although they are unelected bureaucrats who

seem to think they can violate the law, and walk all over

us with impunity and get away with it, that they CAN’T, and

that WE’RE MONITORING THEM. I intend to let them know I’m

MAD AS HELL, and I’m NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE (see

specifics below…..) I’ll have a camcorder and tripod, and need a

volunteer to help film this event so we can put it on the

web, to fire up still MORE people, because a new revolt

against the FDA is clearly in order for the coming year!

 

(We also need demonstrators to protest the meeting from the

SIDEWALK to BACK UP those of us who’ll be INSIDE the

meeting.)

WHAT I INTEND TO MAKE AN ISSUE OF

 

On July 4th, 2005, in Bonn, Germany, a crime against the

American people was committed by the FDA and the USDA when US

Codex Manager Dr.Ed Scarbrough moved to ratify a finalized

Codex vitamin standard that is intended to screw the

American people via harmonization of our laws to a mindlessly

restrictive international Codex standard.

 

 

Scarbrough’s accomplice in crime at Codex is Dr.Christine

Lewis Taylor of the FDA who is “on loan” to the World Health

Organization where she is spearheading WHO’s “Nutrient Risk

Assessment Project” which is in charge of filling in the

blanks on allowable potencies for vitamins, minerals, and

other dietary supplements at Codex.

 

WHY WE NEED TO READ FDA THE RIOT ACT

 

Last May, Taylor sent out a call for applicants to

participate in a (so called) “Nutrient Risk Assessment Workshop”

which was convened in order to generate the methodology

intended to be used to “fill in the blanks” on allowable

potencies of vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements at

the UN’s Codex Alimentarius Commission.

 

She EXCLUDED over 100 very qualified people from OUR SIDE

who wished to participate including Dr.Rob Verkerk from the

UK based Alliance for Natural Health, despite the fact that

his organization was one of only 15 organizations that

submitted comments to WHO when they also requested comments

from people about what they’re doing.

 

ANH’s comments totally expose the gross lack of science

inherent in WHO’s “Nutrient Risk Assessment Methodology”

wherein they’re only looking at supposed “risks” posed by

vitamins and minerals while totally IGNORING their many BENEFITS.

Additionally, ANH has noticed that WHO has been taking a

very SELECTIVE look at the medical literature, only focusing

on negative studies while ignoring positive studies.

They’ve been basing conclusions on flawed animal data in cases

where far more accurate HUMAN DATA is available, and a host

of other things which clearly illustrate BIAS.

 

This isn’t surprising given that Taylor is a registered

Dietician, and the American Dietetic Assn’s official policy is

that no one needs to use dietary supplements- their view is

that you get all the nutrients you need from your FOOD

(despite the fact that massive evidence indicates that the soil

has been steadily depleted of nutrients by modern

agricultural techniques.)

These genocidal numbers are what the German government

wants, and from her actions, we think Christine Taylor intends

to ignore the wishes of the American people who voted with

their feet against this via passage of DSHEA. We think

she’s working with the Germans and against the American people.

We need to make an issue of this because a congressional

oversight hearing on the Codex issue was WHITEWASHED on March

20, 2001 and the truth did not come out then.

 

We need to push HARDER for PROPER Congressional Oversight

on Codex, ESPECIALLY now that CAFTA was rammed down our

throats with FTAA yet to come. We need to rally the troops and

build our grass roots strength big enough to overcome the

spin against our message from the pharma dominated vitamin

trade associations.
