Dear Friends,

 

I just signed a petition to tell Congress to oppose

legislation that would weaker our health care. This plan

before Congress would increase our premiums and the costs

to small businesses, deliver less coverage, and deprive us

of the protections we currently have. I don't want this to

Here is some more information too:

 

Legislation has been proposed in Congress that would create

Associated Health Plans. These plans, called AHPs, deprive

consumers of the protections they already enjoy, cost

workers and small businesses more, and deliver less

coverage.

 

Some specifics of what AHPs mean for Americans:

- Increases in the number of uninsured by 600,000 to

1,000,000 workers,

- Rising costs of premiums to 86% of small businesses,

- Coverage for younger and healthier people while pushing

out older and sicker people,

- Greater taxpayer expense, totaling $3.2 billion dollars

over the next seven years,

- The dodging of state coverage requirements, like

childhood vaccinations,

- Exemptions from mandated benefits like cancer screening

and mammograms,

- Elimination of your power to appeal a rejected claim and

the power being placing in the hands of the insurance

company,

- Watered down oversight, leaving your personal information

and medical history unprotected.

 

This issue is too important to not do anything about!
