Guest guest
I have used Kava Kava in pills, for anxiety and nervousness; and of course Niacin at high does helps relieve the situation for me- sort of a mood stabilizer. I occasionally make a tea- very relaxing- from Passion Flower, Hops, Skullcap, and Valerian root in about equal parts. The herbs can be bought at healthfood stores or yerbarias. (Place the valerian root in cold water only, leave in the refrigerator for at least a day. Then, place the other herbs in hot water to steep. Put them all together when cool.) Guest guest
Hi Christine, I went through a period where i was having major digestive problems, then started having what might be described as anxiety attacks. Because I had already been dealing with digestive issues, that is way i approached it. In my research, I found the symptoms of anxiety attack are exactly those of an adrenaline surge. There is not necessarily any cause, just a sudden release of adrenaline, then we start looking for causes, and it gets labelled as psychiatric instead of physiological. I've spoken with others who have anxiety attacks and found many have them after eating specific foods, or about 4 hours after a meal. It sure sounded like the anxiety attack is a form of food allergy- since an allergy by definition includes a sudden release of adrenaline. It is usually in response to one of the major allergens, like wheat. I don't completely understand all the physiology here, maybe someone else can explain this better. During parts of the digestive process, adrenaline is released to aid in digestion. If the digestive system is blocked , more adrenaline is released. Which, leads to the symptoms of 'anxiety.' Why it gets blocked in the first place is a very big issue. In part, the digestive enzymes are manufactured in the body by the B vitamins, which also happen to be the stress vitamins. During stress, even if our vitamin levels are sufficient, those vitamins become depleted, so enzymes are not made. This means that under prolonged stress, the food does not get digested properly, and we have even less B vitamins to make more enzymes from, and the cycle continues. It can be treated by clearing out the digestive tract, either with fasts, cleansing, enzymes/HCL and such. Identifying food allergens or sensitivities also helps. And of course, vitamin supplementation to rebuild our system. Guest guest
Greeting I am of the belief " let Food Be Your Medicince and Medicine Be your Food " Hopefully you are not taking too much coffee. I found that cutting coffee off helped me get over my panic attacks. Stay off other foods that can induce panic attacks, my personal experience was shitake mushrooms. Personally I have found some wholesome foods are mood liftng/ calming : NZ Spinach which is quite eaily available in warmer countries is a winner . I think it is the cholorphyll in dark green leafy vegetables that does the trick. So you can try inmcreasing your intake of spinach. Also potatoes are supposed to increase the " happy hormones " serotonin in the body. Weight-watchers can always opt for boiled or baked potatoes. Try thse. Also include meditation as part of your daily routine. warmest regards Begum Ibrahim (Ms) Malaysia , Rachel <luric2012@c...> wrote: > Hi Christine, > > I went through a period where i was having major digestive problems, > then started having what might be described as anxiety attacks.
