Guest guest
My son is severely disabled with life threatning seizures, He was put on a expiremental drug years ago, The medication is the SAFEST seizure medication he has ever been on!!! Well, Big Pharma cancelled the study a few years ago. I have been having to get the medication from Canada, because it is not available in the US. The last two years it has been hell getting the medication from Canada. I had to go to Toronto and meet with the head of Pedicatic Neurology at sick kids hospital (the largest childrens hospital in North America) He agreed to help us get the medicine, we can only have three months at a time shipped across the border. Last Aug. Fed Ex called me and told me the FDA is holding my sons medicine. Fed Ex told me that the FDA was trying something new, and was holding everyones medicine, I got in touch with the FDA agent and after 5 phone calls she informed me that we had all the legal papers in order and she would put a green flag in the computer so it would not happen again. My sons neuro in the states has to write out a perscription and fax it to the Dr in Toronto and this Dr writes in detail what the medicine is for, The medicine is shipped right from the Childrens hospital pharmacy. There is NO other drug that is comparable in the US. I called last week to get a refill sent, After the DRs assistant got everything in order she went to the pharmacy, The pharmacy tells her they can not ship it anylonger, she tells the Dr. He tells her that My son NEEDS this medicine and its very impoirtant that he gets it! She went back to the Pharmacy and told them what the DR said, They agreed to ship it this last time. A new Canadian law! How many people are on illegal drugs, and the damn government goes after a sick childs medicine! I am so disgusted! Donna
