With the support of leading scientists, political and religious leaders, prominent Americans and concerned citizens, the Virtual March on Washington will move across the United States via the Internet from one town to the next, showing evidence of global warming's alarming affects, and highlighting real people's concerns and real solutions along the way. Through our map, you can track the progress of the March in real time as more people join, see the path on which we're traveling together, and read the stories from March stops across the country. We'll travel to Indianapolis and visit the Indy Racing League which is converting high performance racers to run on American-grown biofuels; we'll go to Washington state, where warmer winters threaten to shutter the state's ski industry while declining snowpack threatens mountain ecosystems and urban drinking water supplies; we'll visit fishermen on the Chesapeake Bay, where rising sea levels and warmer waters are threatening the Bay's health and an historic and important way of life; in North Dakota, we'll witness good old American ingenuity at work creating jobs and harnessing the energy from wind-swept plains to produce pollution-free electricity; and in Kentucky, we will see autoworkers gearing up to produce hybrid versions of Toyota's best-selling Camry, which will help slash global warming pollution and our nation's dependence on oil. We'll see how global warming impacts all Americans, everywhere, and we'll join together to find solutions today. Over the next year, the March will travel across the U.S., gathering together Americans from all walks of life while raising awareness about global warming. On Earth Day 2006, the March will arrive in Washington D.C. to use the overwhelming strength and diversity of our numbers to urge: 1. The president to initiate a real plan of action to address global warming. 2. Congress to enact new laws to reduce global warming pollution from U.S. power plants, factories and automobiles. 3. U.S. businesses to start a new industrial revolution of clean energy products that will reduce our oil dependence and global warming pollution.
