Guest guest
Dear Group, Some of the messages are going missing from our group again. A message from John was approved along with many others and all went through except the one from John which was a harsh critical appraisal of Bush. Evidently or someone who works there picks and chooses which ones to give long delays of 8 to 12 hours to or makes them go missing permanently. Just trying to keep the group up to date on 's latest shenanigans. F.

Guest guest
Re: Problems with . I find it hard to blame given the overall lack of censorship by . I did happen to notice that many group members (myself included) suddenly could not get their mail after the group post and references about AOL censoring email. I was able to jiggle my settings and get start getting the posts by changing the HTML setting for my group account. But we still don't know how many group members assumed the group was no longer around and didn't pursue it. Since doing my research on AOL, I do not believe that AOL is a business in the usual sense of the word. Also, you have the service being used to send the email and receive the email. It does its own censoring with web filters and key word searches. I guess there are probably glitches as well. The bottom line is that a lot of energy is wasted when service is unreliable. If someone comes out with a reliable service, it will leave these others in the dust. __ Start your day with - make it your home page http://www./r/hs
Guest guest
My firewall kept me from receiving AOL emails. I would have to turn it off to receive the mail from AOL; and turn it back on afterward. Just could be some security gone haywire issues with the computers too. IE security settings. Censorship could never occur in the land where free speech is protected by the Constitutions Bill of Rights, could it? Guest guest
I am just reporting things that I know that are occuring. We all have the choice to believe them or not. Some members a while back had there messages stopped by someone at . We got our messages resumed by changing our settings to receive non HTML messages because the usual HTML messages had been blocked for some members. As far as I know they still are blocked to receive them in HTML. As for the other thing happening at present, many people in groups know that the time of posting is crucial to where a message shows up in our email boxes. If a person puts the time on the message ahead of the actual time of posting, the message will be displayed at the top of all your messages in your email box because they are listed in order of time posted. It will stay at the top of your email list of messages until you delete it or the time of advanced posting passes. Coversely, if the message is " delayed " somehow by say 8 to 12 hours then when the message is received into your email box it does not go to the top of your email box, but is placed in order with your other messges that were received say 8 to 12 hours ago. Since it will never be at the top, and these emails are much less likely to be read and to get lost into the constant stream of backlogged emails. Although it is not well known, has been quite restrictive to some groups who were small and had a highly political content. When a group gets larger they are much more careful about outright censorship as they are fearful of getting a reputation for doing so. I have watched carefully now for about 4 years and this group has been on the receiving end of a lot of stuff that has made it hard sometimes to continue. I know exactly about what I am speaking of when it comes to some of their tricks, etc. There is a whole history of different things that they have pulled on us here. The main money advertisers on are the same big money advertisers in major media and they try to influence available content and information the same as they do in Major Media, but due to the reputation of the web being " wide open " , and other web media are much more careful and circumspect in what they can actually get away with, as a hint of censorship could be someone's undoing reputation wise on the web. Make no mistake, is big business now, is now ran by big business types, and plays well with other big business. I suggest that anyone having trouble with their messages being posted, to just get another email account and rejoin under that email account and name until it also goes bad, and then get another email account and start over.
