Dear All,

The first version of this news which I recently sent had an incorrect link to

Jeffrey Smith's

article. The link is now corrected. Here is the correct link:

Sorry for any confusion.

Monsanto Report Sheds Light On Damaging GM Foods

Every time I write about genetically modified (GM) foods, I warn you about the

paucity of long-term human studies that show what can really happen to your body

when you eat them.

Now, we may have a better idea how damaging GM foods can truly be, thanks to a

German court ruling that ordered Monsanto to release a report about its Mon 863

variety of corn.

The report verifies claims made by other scientists who found animals that ate

GM corn suffered from extensive side effects in their liver, kidneys and blood

and believed human health could be at risk too. Among the problems discovered in

rats that ate GM corn:

Reactions that mimic cancer, allergies, anemia and poor blood pressure.

Kidney inflammation.

Liver and kidney lesions.

Increased blood sugar levels.

Why do rats react this way? Perhaps, it's because the Mon

863 strain is genetically engineered to produce a form of a pesticide called

bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) designed to attack a corn pest called the root worm.

That sounds just as deadly as the findings of a recent study in which a mistake

in growing GM crops too close together could breed insects that develop a

resistance to all the proteins meant to kill them.

Since your chances of eating foods made from GM crops is very high if you buy

them from the grocery store, I urge you to follow these suggestions to safeguard

your health and that of your family:

Buy organic produce.

Avoid processed foods.

Pay close attention to produce stickers and food labels.
