(Washington, DC) I have been a Democratic voter for 25 years

and am probably as progressive as they come. I even went to the

Progressive Democrats of America seminar in January and tried so very

hard to buy into their heartfelt, earnest insistence that all we have

to do is vote into office more progressive Dems in the future, and

eventually we'll one day take back our government!

 

But what wishful thinking that was. Sigh. I have been doing

a good deal of reading since then and now know in my heart that

Congress is almost totally corrupt. (And yes, that includes the

Democrats.)

 

As I believe most on this group have noticed, these are not

merely " W's " Wars nor even the wars of the GOP. It is our Congress,

including the Dems, who keep funding one war funding appropriation

after the next. And quite frankly, there are only a few to whom I

would now even stop to give the time of day.

 

There exists a great need for all of you who know these things

to BECOME the media and to expose all the things that never even

appear on traditional Dem web sites, blogs, and other " progressive "

news magazines!

 

The Dems, it quite pains me to admit, are fully in bed with

the GOP with regard to the military industrial machine and these

imperialistic invasions/ occupations. At this point, we would be

silly to believe that letting Congress know how we feel is going to

make any real change happen.

 

Let's be frank now, shall we? As it stands now, Congress no

longer appears to care about the welfare and best interests of their

constituents, the American citizens.

 

And from where I sit, not far from the Beltway? Right now,

We, the People, are being Screwed. Actually, Royally so.

 

The only way that things will change is when a broader

education of the truth about what our government/military is doing

takes place. And since the media is not doing its job, you and I must

do it for them.

 

Each and every one of us must now assess our own talents and

gifts and think, " Can I write? Can I speak? Can I organize? Can I

hand out flyers? What is it that I can do to wake up my neighbors -

and the nation in general - to the truths that we are not being shown

on tv, that are not appearing in magazines and newspapers, and are not

even being covered by the quote unquote " progressive " journalists? "

 

I should interject here that yes, I do believe in the Green

Party values as well, and am impressed, too, with the efforts of the

Anti-War efforts of Democracy Rising: http://www.democracyrising.us/

 

Even as worthwhile as these independent groups may be,

however? I am convinced that such independent efforts are not going to

be successful (in terms of sheer numbers needed) until *we* (and by

" we " I am referring to each and every single one of us who know these

truths) sufficiently work to get these messages out.

 

Our fellow Americans need to know about the Real Scoop going

on inside the Beltway as well as in the Middle East. With such a

corrupted, infiltrated media, however, we are the only ones who can

possibly deliver the news and message that Americans so desperately

need to hear.

 

With each passing day, the more foreign press and alternative

news web sites we visit, we learn only more and more of the vile and

despicable horrors of which the average citizen knows virtually nothing.

 

In order to stop these wars and other horrific atrocities

being committed in our name? We, those with eyes wide open, are

going to have to be the ones who " clue in " our still un-knowing fellow

citizens.

 

This is not about the Greens, Democracy Rising, DAWN, ANSWER

or any other group, folks. This is all about finding our very own,

individual Personal Power and using it. This is all about taking this

matter of spreading the truths upon ourselves and assuming our own

measure of Personal Responsibility as citizens with a civic duty to

help educate one another.

 

We can no longer look to groups to do what needs to be done.

In order for change to occur in our government, each and every one of

us must now assume Personal Responsibility to:

 

(a) better learn about these carefully-guarded truths, and

 

(b) broadcast them to all who do not possess this knowledge - yet.

 

I have taken on this personal challenge upon myself to educate

my fellow citizens of these and other truths. And I am now asking

each and every one of you to join me in doing the same.

 

Like the old phrase says, " If it's going to be, it's up to

me. " I only wonder if the author of that phrase had any idea

whatsoever how very true that phrase would one day become in this

nation? Never before in US history has the Personal Power of the

Individual been so absolutely critical.

 

We must all stop passing the buck. And instead? Each one of

us must pass on these truths ~ and quickly.
