Vitamin C in huge quantities. Vitamin E in liberal quatitiies. All of

the other nutrients in more than normal quantities. Learn about all the

nutrients. Go to our links page. Start with Doctoryourself.com. Here is the link

to our links page.

It works, but most people do not take enough of the vitamin C or

others to do the job. They will take a small amount and then say, " I

tried it and it didn't work " . It works if the person will take them in

sufficient quatities to let the body do it's job and heal itself.

The bleeding gums are not the " real problem " , but are a " symptom " of what is

going on in the body as a whole. It usually reflects great nutrient

deficiencies throughout the body.

Information and real education about what nutrients are necessary on a

biological level, how they work, how to tell what your body needs, etc. are

first before most healing can take place. The body knows how to heal, but we

must become educated enough to know what to give it so it can do it's job and

educated enough/deprogrammed enough to think in wholistic terms rather than

allopathic terms about health.

Shirley,

For gum disease, diet is the first and most important. Dentists make a big

mistake in focusing on the outside rather than the inside. You want to get

on a good hyperglycemic diet (low carb) cutting refined sugars especially.

There are strong correlations between diabetes and insulin resistance and

gum disease. You need to start consuming whole, nutrient dense - fresh

foods, avoiding processed foods. Atkins is good to read and learn on

insulin resistance, healthier eating, the Weston Price group is good to

learn from http://www.westonaprice.org/splash_2.htm the Schwarzbein diet is

another good one. A good multivitamin is basic to supplementing. I take one

that includes vitamin E, K-1 and folic acid in it - all helpful for gum

disease.

I take coenzyme Q-10 as an antioxidant, particularly for the gum problems.

If I had to pick the single one supplement that was most helpful - it would

be the Q-10. I don't have problems anymore but back when I first started

using it, I could tell a significant difference in my gums within a couple

of days of taking it, especially when they were bleeding, swollen and

infected. I use Tom's of Maine toothpaste. Baking soda and salt are also

good to brush with - someone on this board had given me a link to a mineral

mix that was really good but I lost it. Maybe they will repost it. Hydrogen

peroxide is good to rinse with - I now use a mouthwash made by Colgate

called Peroxyl which is hydrogen peroxide with a nice mint flavoring. I got

a Sonicare toothbrush which was worth every penny. I also started drinking

green tea which is another that's been associated as helpful to gingivitis.

But it's important to stress that all this was in conjunction with a major

dietary change. It's been three years since I was told I needed peridontal

surgery and declined it. I had had the surgery some years before, my teeth

continued to deteriorate anyway. I don't have the gum problems now, just

the damage left that was done previously.

Peridontal disease also tends to go with smoking. If you smoke, zinc, GABA,

and glutamine are helpful - both for your mouth and quitting or reducing.

Healthy diet, healthy diet, healthy diet. Therapeutic dosages (bowel

tolerance) of a good Vitamin C. Three drops of oregano oil in 4-6 ounces of

water 3x daily after meals. Swish in mouth and then swallow. Brush with

hydrogen peroxide and water. Use toothpaste that is fluoride-free.

I just posted this to another group:

I've had a lot of luck getting rid of gum pockets by using some equipment I

bought from

mizar5.com. I got a Viajet Pro oral irrigation device along with a cannulae tip

and Therasol

mouthwash concentrate.

The tip is what makes things possible. There are bacteria in the gum pockets

and they

form a protective barrier. The tip allows you to puncture that barrier and kill

the bacteria

with the mouthwash you then spray into the pocket. This will produce a little

blood.

I've never experienced a moment of pain poking around in my gums with the tip.

If you

can find all the effected areas in each pocket you can get rid of the pocket.

This means

you might have to do a fair amount of poking around. My first pocket I found

three

different areas or lobes. The gum will regrow then and there will be no pocket.

The hardest part for me has been getting to the pockets in the very back.

Finally I really

bent the tip so that it could reach everything back there. I use my finger to

guide it

around. I've been doing this over a year and am still finding new areas.

It's good to go to a hygienist as they will check for pockets and give you a

little dental map

of where they are. The maps have been quite useful to me.

Hope this is of use to someone.

Making a mouth rinse out of Myrrh is a great alternative. Mixing it

with a bit of warm water and gargaling with this is supposed to be

incredible.
