Dear,

I am glad you raised the issue from India. I am writing from India too.

Do you know of consumer groups in India who would rise up to protect the right

of ordinary citizens to take care of their own health and to eat what they like,

like the ones in USA etc.?

If not, then we should have such groups.

I read on the box of vitamin B3 (Niacinamide sold in India as Nialip) " Warning:

To be sold by retail on the prescription of a Registered Medical Practitioner

only " .

Why? It is a harmless vitamin and is rather beneficial. If someone chooses to

take it, it should be available without restriction or let the government prove

that it is harmful. The onus of proof that some food is harmful should be on the

government that is banning or restricting the food item.

Ratan.
