Guest guest
AKA Bush's revenge for California going BLUE. Tell your Senator or Representative, we won't pay them one more penny to nuke our state. Today is the day to start calling your representative and both senators to tell them that they get an F- with regards to protecting your children's lives and an A+ in actively working to make California uninhabitable. OK, so they voted to use billions of your tax dollars for nuclear weapons activities in this bill. We don't have national health care or a decent educational system but bombs will make up for that. The Senate version includes nuclear bunker busters. But this is a minor concern, compared to the planned nuking of the Colorado River. Next time, you drink a glass of water or take a shower, be aware that both California Senators and all California Representatives (except the one who didn't vote) voted to make your shower and drinking water radioactive. Next time you bite into a piece of California-grown fruit or a California-grown vegetable, remember that both California Senators and all California Representatives (except the one who didn't vote) voted to make that fruit or vegetable radioactive. Is anyone here familiar with the effects of radiation poisoning? Look at your kids and say to yourself, Boxer, Reid, Feinstein, all Democratic Senators and all California Representatives (except the one who didn't vote) think my kid should undergo radiation poisoning. Now, do you really think that any of these people or any Presidential candidates who voted for this deserve one penny from California voters? Masochists may think so. The one California Representative who didn't vote was Juanita Millender-McDonald. If she is not your Representative and you live in California, your Representative voted to nuke your state and your kids. There was OPPOSITION, particularly in the House, led by Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul (who were among the 13 Representatives who voted NAY). Your Representative knew or should have known what he/she was doing. Yesterday, one of the Representatives who voted for this bill told me she had voted against Yucca Mountain. Though the roll call at Thomas.loc.gov would disagree with her, she sounded very convincing. Maybe, she missed the discussion of the bill, walked in and just decided to vote " Yea " on whatever happened to be on the floor. Where was the Democratic Leadership? If they were in Congress, they voted to nuke California. If they were not in Congress, they said nothing - absolutely nothing. They either were ignorant or didn't care. Extensive fraud has been used to push Yucca Mountain as far as it has gone. The PHDC has a few of the links, which are just the tip of the iceberg. Check out http://patrickhenrythinktank.org/yuccamtn.html The proposed Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository is a dangerous and bad idea. Sandoval accurately described the Yucca Mountain site 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas as " a volcano that sits on an earthquake fault above an aquifer, next to the Nevada Test Site, next to one of the nation's largest organic farms, next to the state's largest dairy, adjacent to ... (America's) fastest-growing metropolitan area (and) next to one of the busiest Air Force bases in the country. " " If you could choose a worse place to store nuclear waste, I really challenge you to do so, " he added. " It's just a matter of time before this project fails. " Well said, Mr. Attorney General. http://www.nevadaappeal.com/article/20050306/OPINION/103060018 " Paul Craig, a physicist and engineering professor at the University of California-Davis, said he quit the panel last month so he could speak more freely about the waste dump's dangers. " http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/text/2004/feb/19/516382264.h tml " For Nevadans, this is one of the biggest whoppers yet. Bush promised Nevadans that as president he would rely on " sound science " as the determining factor for the operation of the Yucca Mountain Repository. Once in the White House, the Bush Administration unveiled their real intentions: to ship 77,000 tons of highly toxic nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain, located less than 100 miles northwest of Las Vegas. " http://actforvictory.org/act.php/nevada/releases/yucca_mountain/ " The nation's nuclear waste dump proposed for Nevada is poorly designed and could leak highly radioactive waste, a scientist who recently resigned from a federal panel of experts on Yucca Mountain told The Associated Press on Wednesday. When this bill comes out of conference committee, all Senators and Representatives need to oppose this bill. This will only happen if we mount a quick, extensive phone calling, letter writing and faxing campaign to get them to wake up. Tell them you, your family and your neighbors will pull the purse strings, and they'll have to get their money from another state, if they fail to oppose this again. If it passes, post-conference committee, our responsible option will be to go to Nevada in massive numbers and lie down on the roads to block construction and nuclear waste vehicles from getting to the site. Some of it will be coming in by train. Good luck. We have another option. We can move. I am a second-generation Californian and I don't want to move. But like the rest of those in California, I may have no choice. Bush's courts aren't going to stop his revenge on our state. P.S., Please get out the word on HR 2419. We only have a short time to convince our leaders to change their mind and save our state. http://www.blueaction.org A politician is a man who will double cross that bridge when he comes to it http://stopviolence.care2.com/
