Guest guest
Be sure to soak them first to wash the tannin off them. After that you can dry them and grind them if you want to. Be careful of the amount that you ingest as it only takes a small amount for tonics and such. We are talking about 14 or so berries at one time. Schizandra is best taken in combination with other herbs such as Jujube or Chinese Licorice in order for it to best assimilated into our system. Again, always be careful when using herbs such as this because that are very powerful and can do harm if not used correctly Vester Seattle
Guest guest
I have a question about ingesting schizandra. Recently, I bought 1 lb. of the whold dried berries. Is it OK to grind them in the coffee grinder and then eat it? I assume since it's just a berry like any other berry it should be OK. If so, what would the maxium quantity be that I could ingest per day? I have a TCM book and they said 3 grams per day. I have a bottle of Schizandra and it says 2 capsules are 1,160 mg.. I'm just confused at the potency of the fresh ground herb (even though it tastes great!!).
