EU CONSTITUTION VOTE STUNS BUREAUCRATS: France and Holland's 'NO' in

the recent EU constitutional referenda has sent Brussels into a

tailspin. Furthermore, 96.9% of Germans voted nein to the EU

Constitution in a phone-in poll conducted by mass circulation German

newspaper Bild. Nearly 400,000 Germans paid to cast their votes after

95% of the Bundestag voted to ratify the Constitution without

consulting the German people.

ECJ JUDGMENT DAY ANNOUNCED: The European Court of Justice judgment on

the Alliance for Natural Health (and joined) case against the EU Food

Supplements Directive will be handed down on 12 July.

HOW RED MEAT RAISES CANCER RISK: Eating a burger and two sausages a

day can raise the risk of bowel cancer by a third, scientists have

warned. They say having the equivalent of an 8oz sirloin steak each

day doubles the risk of developing the disease, which affects 35,000

Brits a year.
