Guest guest
Dear Friends, Over the past few weeks I have been posting various articles/links on this list. On the surface it may appear that they are random. However there is a link through all of them. The underlying theme is that Big Brother does not like change and that Big Brother is watching. The entire world is in the grip of a few very powerful politicians, institutions and MNC's. Together they have access to tremdous power and monetary benefits they are not ready to relinquish. Today wars are being fought not for ending terrorism but for cornering the resources of the world. They are being fought to spend stocks of old weapons so that fresh orders for better weapons can be placed thus paving the way for astronomical sums of commissions and kickbacks. In the field of health we have an entire system that thrives on disease. True health and wellbeing is being resisted just because a disease free society would make a lot of business houses, earning in trillions, go bust. Thus has formed rules (Codex) that want to maintain the status quo by banning alternate medicines, natural foods and natural therapies. These business houses would one day ban even staple food and vegetables to ensure that the whole of the human race thrive just on medicines. Environmental issues are being sidestepped and sabotaged because certain countries would be adversely affected. The common explanation is being given that scientific progress would be hampered if the suggestions of the environmentalists and the animal lovers are met. There is also talk about protecting the interests of the poor. If this group really thought about the poor then there would be no poverty today. This unholy nexus of politicians, business houses and financial institutions are seeking to usher in a new world order where their rules alone will run roost. There is a lot of talk about globalisation but there is not a single case of any ordinary country being benefitted in the process. As MNC's spread their wings indigenous industries and indigenous labour is falling by the wayside. Governments are being forced to tax their own citizens so that funds can be made available to the rich and powerful nations. A ruthless Govt in a very powerful state is even throttling aid to its senior citizens just because it faces a resource crunch on the " war on the world " front. They would rather offer mercy killing to the people who have sincerely served their country than bear the expenses of their old age needs. This Govt thinks nothing about fixing elections, terminating health benefits/social welfare schemes, playing with the religious sentiments of its people, forcibly recruiting small children for the armed forces; all in the name of democracy and national security. Whose safety and security are they worried about, we wonder. The parties involved realise that there are forces that may put a scanner in the works. Now fresh rules on how individual and personal data in respect of individuals can be accessed by Government agencies are being formed. Many see the recent Mastercard fiasco as an attempt to access personal data as such a huge heist could not have been possible without high end technology being used. Microsoft, and Google are being instructed to keep tab on users and their browsing habits. Individual freedom is now at a very great risk. Environmentalists, activists, free thinkers, non conformist journalists are being spied upon and their moves are being subtly thwarted. The anti terrorist laws being framed currently whereby almost anyone can be dubbed a terrorist and incarcerated by denying them their legal rights. George Orwels 1984 is a stark reality in 2005. Regards, Jagannath.
