FDA going after internet web sites.

I am on many mailing lists. Here is an email that I received about the

FDA going after one internet web site, but I know that they are going after all

that they can and are now picking those that sell any product and who have any

text that can be construed as " health claims " .

I tried to interpret the probable warning into Realspeak for my own

" amusement " and kind of thought it would have to be something like this.

Don't take that vitamin, herb or other nutritional product, that used

to be acknowledged as a safe substance. See we do not want to have you

healthy, wealthy or wise, we want you on drugs and sick / damaged, and that way

you are not a proactive citizen, and if we have anything to do with it you will

be " dumb " too so that you will never get to know the truth about many things and

we get to scam you out of your money at the same time that we are scamming you

out of your health and you will probably be too busy, screwed up, or sick from

the drugs so that you will never figure out all of the other things we are

screwing you

on also. And we are also going to load up your kids and grandkids with

all of the drugs that we can and maybe we can burn out their brain

cells to a point where they will become good compliant adults and will become

good little low wage " workers " and good little low intelligence flag waving

" citizens " of the new fascist republic when they grow up. And you will get to

pay for your own chains / demise / dumbing down. That is called privatization.

We privatize the profit and pass on to the public the expenses, even of their

own defeat.

But we know that is just crazy talk and that it couldn't possibly be

true. Just for amusement.

June Newsletter - Cease and Desist

" Herbs First " <info

Cease and Desist

I was watching the news last Thursday morning and heard a report that

a national orange juice company had been fined by the FTC (Federal

Trade Commision) for making health claims.

Interesting thing was, we had to take our website off line the night

before. We had been given a cease and desist letter from the

manufacturer of the Christopher products. The strange thing about this

was that we had been fixing things for two months, but the

manufacturer was not willing to negotiate the situation unless we took

the site down. To our utmost regret we took Herbs First off-line on

the evening of June 1st. Luckily the owner of the Christophers emailed

us the next morning stating his demands. We were able to fix the items

that needed fixing, find a lawyer and get an agreement put together

that manufacturing required in order for us to get the Herbs First

site back online early Friday afternoon.

This comes from the fact that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration)

says that herbal products haven't been tested in the way that they say

testing should be done. According to the FDA there is no proof that

herbal products work, time tested over hundreds of years does not

qualify. Therefore, any website on the internet that is making health

claims, has testimonials, claims that certain herbs cure certain

diseases, and that continues to educate people about their herbs as

well as selling products, are in danger of being fined by the FTC for

false advertizing.

Herbs First is an independent distributor of the Christopher products

and cannot make any claims that their herbs cure anything.

So how can you find out what herbs to use?

We have changed our website to link to the Herbal Legacy website owned

by The School of Natural Healing. The Herbal Legacy website is loaded

with all of the information to help people identify what herbs may

help them. We have made finding the links as easy as possible. But

part of the FTC requirements is that the links need to be two click

away. We are linking to certain pages at Herbal Legacy and then you

will need to click on the information that you want to learn about.

Note that educational websites do not sell products, and retail sites

such as Herbs First do not have educational materials on their sites

other than books for sale. Herbs First is providing these links as a

courtesy and makes no representations regarding any information

related thereto and disclaims liability for any assertions therein.

Any questions, complaints or claims regarding the specific information

found on linked websites should be directed to the site owner.

We hope that this clarifies what happened last week, as well as the

changes that have been made on the website. We feel that between the

Herbal Legacy and Herbs First websites people should be able to

educate themselves on herbs to make a well informed decisions about

what products will help them. The Herbal Legacy site has the ailments

list, the complete product information along with many of Dr.

Christopher's healing stories about the formulas. It has some

newsletters, healing programs, recipes, and other literature and

information.

Herbs First can still sell the educational materials such as the

books, cd's, and videos. The free ailments CD Rom is a great source of

free information which is available with your herb order. Herbs First

makes no representations regarding any information related thereto and

disclaims liability for any assertions therein. Any questions,

complaints or claims regarding the specific information found on those

books, cd's and videos should be directed to the owners of the copy right.

If further restrictions are put on educational websites such as the

Herbal Legacy and they are no longer able to provide the free

information, then the next place to get education is through the

books, cd's and videos mentioned above.

This newsletter isn't meant to scare people, to only inform them of

what is going on in the United States concerning the FDA and FTC's

regulations on health claims. Many websites are still advertising and

making claims about products. We are happy that we got through this

storm and hope to be here for all of our wonderful customers for many

years to come.

Have a great month!

Best Regards,

Kathryn Mechling
