Guest guest
to end Media Censorship in the USA Below is taken from an e-mail I sent some of my friends from my other account: --------------- Hello everyone, I have started a to end media censorship. I hope to e-mail you formal invitations shortly. You are a group of about 12 people who I believe at some point expressed similar views, indicated that you are not afraid to discuss politics, or that you appreciated my ideas. I use BCC as much as I can to protect people's privacy, even though every once and a while, I have forgotten to do this. As far as I'm concerned, my e-mail is public as long as it doesn't get sent to spammers and corporations. The URL is here: end_media_censorship/ In order to join, I believe that you have to have a ID. Even if joining a doesn't justify getting a ID, I recommend getting one for the sake of shopping online, because really is a good way to shop online. Okay, let's get down and dirty! My reasoning is very simple. I believe that the Downing Street Memo proves that the CIA was ordered by members of the Bush Adminstration to say that Iraq had mass destroying weapons (WMDs). This story was completely ignored by the mainstream press. Those who have read the memo believe that this is an impeachable offense. My question is how can anyone in their right mind trust media organizations that ignore an impeachable offense? If your President committed an impeachable offense, wouldn't you want to know? How are we ever going to be able to get the public to act an important issues, if the public is not aware of important issues, due to the failure of the mainstream press? I don't see how it is possible. And just because they cover the filibuster debate, and John Bolton, doesn't get the media off the hook. Do you have any idea of some of the things that Bolton said? I'll bet you my life that you don't. " ...there is no United Nations... " " the mindless creation of the United Nations... " " The United States makes the UN work when it wants to work. " He said all that. I have a video of him saying that. He basically says that the only thing the UN is good for is being a slave for the United States, and since Bolton is a neocon, that essentially translates to saying that the UN should only work for neocons, and no one else. How can any non-neocon rational human being think for a moment that this arrogant moron is qualified to be UN ambassador? The problem is that because of media censorship, the mainstream public will never truly have a chance to answer that question. The only thing they probably know is that Democrats don't like him. Okay, if I sent you an e-mail every time the Bush Administration was up to no good, your e-mails would start bouncing. The Democrats have been running on single issues for quite some time, and THEY HAVE BEEN LOSING. We have been playing the game of stop this, stop that, save this, and save that, and it simply isn't working. WE NEED OFFENSE. We need to start attacking. Think of it like a war or a game of chess. The media is one of the next targets of the neocons. We have to break the media before the neocons take it over. Let me give you an example of what the government is doing to the media. Newsweek printed a story about some of the atrocities that have been going on at Guantanamo Bay. This is basically OLD news. Before they printed the story, the Pentagon told them it was okay. Then the riots in Afghanistan broke out because of these atrocities. Then the pentagon flip flops and makes Newsweek take back its story. Here are the things to consider: The Newsweek story was true. A minority of the atrocities that the Bush Administration has committed have become public knowledge, and have somehow managed not to significantly hurt the Bush administration or significantly impact world opinion toward the Bush administration. But the pentagon guessed wrong, and what does the Bush administration do when they are threatened by the media? You guessed it. MEDIA CENSORSHIP. Instead of blaming the military, and instead of blaming people in Afghanistan, they blame the media, possibly expanding their means to force the mainstream press into printing news that is Bush friendly. I don't have the time to e-mail you every time the Bush administration commits a censored atrocity, or every time there's some kind of online petition, and I don't believe that you have the time to deal with it either. I want to focus primarily on ending media censorship by any means necessary. Organized protests through MoveOn.org is my preferred means. If we succeed in media reform, we will have the public's ear, and Bush, the neocons, and the Republicans will not be able to get away with what they've been getting away with for over 10 years. If the battle to take back the USA is a game of chess, the next move is to take one of the opponents most important pieces, which is the mainstream press. I am going to cut back significantly on my political e-mails, and focus more on my . I hope you take initiative and join me, even if you never post. The sheer number of members will help my group to grow. Please forward this e-mail. Thank you! Daniel
