Guest guest
I have suffered all my life (since as early as I can remember) from canker sores. Not just small ones, huge ones that would break out in 2's and 3's. I am now 45 years old and up until last year, I was still suffering from them. Then, quite by accident, I found a cure. It works for me and it might work for you too! I found that I am allergic (or sensitive) to gluten. Gluten is found mainly in wheat, oats, rye and barley and it is also " hidden " in things such as modified starch. I found that when I eliminated these foods from my diet, I no longer got canker sores!!! Being on a gluten free diet is a pain in the neck, but it is worth it for me. This means that you can not eat things like bread, pizza, pasta, cookies, certain cereals, bread crumbs, etc. Well, you can eat those things if you buy wheat free products. Some wheat free products are not all that bad and once you begin to eat them, you get used to them and they taste good. I would be interested to know if anyone else out there has tried this wheat free diet for canker sores or if anyone is willing to give it a whirl. I would be interested to know the results. Also, if anyone needs any advice on how to go about becoming wheat free, I am no expert, but I can get you started! Diane
