Guest guest
Thanks Kelly, the meningococcal vaccination is being carried out nationally through the schools. Parents are being told they have to return the consent forms issued through the schools whether they consent or not. The Health Dept. will then follow up on anyone not having their child vaccinated. There is a need to target areas where overcrowding and a language barrier exists, but I would not like to see parents who have made an educated decision being pressured, there is an emotional advertising compaign being carried out as well. As far as the flu vaccine, this is more personal as I do not have children of school age (thank goodness) My eldest daughter has a low immune system. She is in her mid twenties and in my opinion does not eat regularly or sensibly. She has decided to have the flu vaccination as she is travelling overseas within the next few weeks and has had several viral infections this year. She has asked my opinion, but as most parents know we can offer all the good advice, but whether it is taken into consideration is another thing.
