After I read, " Under New Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, Food Stamps May Be Reduced " I was enraged that this party who controls the executive branch as well as the legislative branch of the federal government could do this to America's " Greatest Generation " . These men and women are the back bone of this country, fought a world war, the Korean war and some in Viet Nam and this is the thanks that they get. Meanwhile it was announced today that Halliburton whose former CEO Dick Cheney will receive a $72 million dollar bonus for their work in Iraq. Many countries that have universal health care respect their elderly and treat them with compassion. What do we do? We force them to choose between eating and taking life saving drugs. But, I keep forgetting, this is a country for, of and by the powerful and not the people. If any citizen thinks that these elected officials especially the Republicans who own this country truly represent their needs, man do I have a bridge to sell you. To our seniors, a President Gore would not have done this to you. You do remember the " lock box " don't you?
