Guest guest
<<I do think most grapeseed is solvent extracted- so keep that in mind...wouldnt want to waste your arnica on that>> But then, would you even want to use grapeseed oil at all in that case, considering that it sinks into the skin so well? On the other hand, many oils these days are solvent-extracted. <<Your best bet, if you want the infusion to last the longest, is to use jojoba oil... it keeps a looooooooooong time! Grapeseed is a nice light oil, but won't last as long in infusions as jojoba or even olive oil.. my two oils of choice! >> About jojoba, on the herbal healing lists the consensus is that since jojoba is a wax, it doesn't work well for infusing because it doesn't absorb the same herbal constituents that oils do. I just checked the reference that I saved about jojoba and infusions, and it said the best oil for infusions was olive, like you said, while jojoba was the poorest. Guess I'd better stay with olive and use the grapeseed as an additive to the final product, if at all. Thanks for the reminder! Guest guest
On the other hand, many > oils these days are solvent-extracted. > Not the ones I use!!! And jojoba is great to add to your olive oil infusions to make them last longer... I do infusions in jojoba- but I extract the herbal constituents with alcohol first- see michael moores site for info herbal preparations... http://chili.rt66.com/hrbmoore/HOMEPAGE/HomePage.html and have fun... michelle
Guest guest
Hiya, Yep, same here, no solvent extracted oils for me either as carriers anyways. Grapeseed's wonderfully light and does absorb really well into your skin, but once again, if you want it to last, check out the page Michelle sent and go w/either jojoba or olive. Good luck to you!
