Arm & Hammer versus homemade laundry soap?

Most of the time, yes, just Arm & Hammer. I am talking the Arm & Hammer liquid

laundry detergent. I use liquid because powders don't seem to dissolve well in

our water. I also use Downey liquid for the softener. If I have a really dirty

load I will pretreat with borax and soda.

This is where the Bio Kleen would work- it does dissolve in cold and hard

water- and has none of the synthetic fragrances and other things that may be

of concern to some(like me)
