Guest guest
Merry Christmas! Here is a question for those of you who make your own laundry soap .... how well does it work, and does it work for everything and in all water temps? I mean, I've read that laundry detergent was created (in part) cause laundry soap left a film on clothes that had synthetic fibers, so they made synthetic soap for synthetic clothes ... Does it work well for all your laundry needs, or do you still need a detergent or " Woolite " , etc... for some wash articles? *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
I agree with you on the hard water it will make the clothes dingy looking. I think it works best with soft water so I have been told. Helaine
Guest guest
Chris, Merry Christmas back 'atcha!!! I used to make my own laundry soap and after about two month of using it I noticed that ALL of our clothes were dingy looking. I went back to Arm & Hammer. We have very hard water, so that may have been the problem. Linda Red Barn Enterprises New Candles!!!!!! Guest guest
I too made my own laundry soap for quite a while. I finally noticed a ring around the inside of the washing machine at the water level I used most. I too went back to the old way, Arm & Hammer. Guest guest
I make my own laundry soap and love it. I usually use the soap that didn't quite turn out the way I wanted, grind it up, and add baking soda, borax, some orange eo, lemon eo, and a floral eo (lavender, jasmine, etc - whatever hits me at the time). The baking soda and borax (which I added to store bought soap when i used it) helps clean the clothes and keep them bright. The citrus eo's also help to clean by cutting grease and they leave a fresh clean smell.....I won't go back to using store bought laundry soaps. (I liked arm and hammer too.) I also clean my fine washables with my bar soap. Does a good job. I wash in cold, warm and hot, all seem to clean good....and I don't get the ichys or rashes that store bought soap had a habit of giving me...
