I'm headed into the dungeon, um kitchen, to make my last batch of lotion

for gifts. This one is the arthritis/rheumatism stuff.

Then all I have to do is wrap and tag stuff, and sew some seams on a few

playmates left, and then I sleep!!!!

Just got home from a holiday thing, where I ate way too much

fudge<giggle>.

Blessings,

My last minutes are all done--had Christmas tonight with 16 people plus

myself. My one son is a like a gourmet cook. He brought over prime,

mandarin turkey, sweet potatoes and my daughter and other son furnished the

rest. I did bake dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, and angle good cake. Had a

wonderful evening and I even invited my 'ex'. Now if that isn't being in

the Christmas spirit!!!!!!!!! My son and his family (from Missouri) and my

great grandson will be staying until Wednesday. What a day. Loved every

minute with my kids, their kids, and their kid.

Again, Happy Holidays.

Blessings and love,

Effie

Well, for once most of my chores are done, or should I say were done.

We had a strange candle thing - a hollow tube, about 4 inches inside which was

made of wax and had things like cinnamon sticks and slices of orange embedded in

it, It was about 5 inches high and stood on a little stand which had a tray

for a little night light. It was alight on a small stone shelf that sticks out

of our stone wall in the sitting room. Last night I went to bed early, David

was working on the computer, Poppoy the dog started crying, he smelled burning,

went into sitting room to discover that the whole thing had melted, poured wax

into the back of the TV and the base was on fire (black smoke up wall -

thankfully stone) just under where I was sleeping. He put it out, opened

windows etc and I slept through the lot. Lucky us - wonderful dog alerting him

to it. Precious beings these animal friends.

So today I'll be trying to get wax off the carpet, black off the wall and wax

out of the TV!!!!

Shakes you up a bit!

Regards

Ann - Scotland - getting rubber gloves on and being thankful not only for life

but also that we're having a quiet Christmas this year!

So whatchy'all doing in last minute preparation for the holidays?

I'm baking cookies now!
