Guest guest
I'm on week 3 of bedrest because of this impatient baby and I rolled over and heard a " pop " in my ribs that my DH heard in the next room! The dr said I either cracked a rib or did something muscle wise. Nothing to do but let it heal. I am in so much pain. Is there any rub DH can massage on it to lessen the pain? It feels good to sit in a recliner, but I'm not allowed, I'm supposed to be lying flat on my side TIA Michele
Guest guest
Rather than massage, which would probably aggravate it, use alternate cold and hot compresses, perhaps with some Lavender or R Chamomile ouch!!! Guest guest
AWWWWWWW Feel better hon, I am CERTAINLY no bedrest expert, BUT it makes sense to me that if you are in pain lying flat on your side, in the " proper " position, yet you are comfy in the recliner .. then you will be less stressed and SO WILL THE BABY in the recliner .. the whole point of the bedrest is for you and baby to be RELAXED and feel comfy and not in pain or stressed! I say POO with the " proper " position and make yourself comfortable! *Hugs* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Michele at Home wrote: > I'm on week 3 of bedrest because of this impatient baby and I rolled over > and heard a " pop " in my ribs that my DH heard in the next room! Guest guest
Hi Michele, So sorry to hear this. Rule of thumb would usually be for the first 24 - 48 hours, cool compress, every 3-4 hours for maybe 5 minutes, then after that, switch to the warm compresses...........same deal, timewise, though you could up the warm to maybe 15 minutes, since it'll relax and feel a little bit better. Other than that, I've found being crabby helps? Hang in there Michele, you're really having a rough time.........
