Guest guest
Would some of you eo experts please talk about which eos are most frequently " doctored " and which rarely are? Seems to me that some oils are so inexpensive to produce that there just wouldn't be an economic incentive to tinkering with them. Like pine, fir and spruce. Or citrus eos. Am I off base in my thinking? I'm reasoning that if there are some that can pretty safely be presumed to be unadulterated industry-wide, I can save some $ on those and therefore be able to buy more of the more precious ones. And if I know which ones I had better buy only if tested, those are the ones I will. Thanks much, for sharing your knowledge and experience. Guest guest
Oh, Figure anything expensive is adulterated regularly .. and anything they try to give a standard smell to (like lavender) .... Awww heck, almost everything is adulterated, and almost NOBODY (except Butch) puts his paperwork where his mouth is about the purity of his oils! Many of the even " professional aromatherapists " buy their oils from CHEAPIE wholesale places that say they can't guarantee the purity and don't try to or have even gotten busted tainting their oils! Also, lots of what is passed off as Certified Organic Citrus Oils is not - why do I say that? Cause if the folks producing them won't give proof it is organic, then ya have to assume it isn't (and I'm talking the big guy distillers and suppliers here). There are many folks just plain full of it and trying to make extra money off the term and name organic. So, ya gotta take it from that starting point I guess ....... I deal with Butch only! All my oils are from him or someone he suggests to me and that is it - Why? Cause I don't want to waste my money or yours! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com SArjuna wrote: > Would some of you eo experts please talk about which eos are most > frequently " doctored " and which rarely are? Guest guest
Hi, Chris, unfortunately, you're right...........but I've a couple suppliers like I'm sure you do as well that will put their money where their mouths are. Look for those and e-mail before buying from them as to IF they'll provide the GC testing copy. If they won't - stay clear away from them! If you're going through another distributor, also ask if they get their GC tests and then do a re-test - Why? Cuz anyone can provide a GC test and then put their own additives of who-knows-what in the oils. If an oils already been twice-tested, you're usually ok to buy it. There are exceptions though.... take Carnation for example, I've never been able to find it! (unless it's in a fragrance oil or a blended something-or-other). And that's only one example, there are many. Oh yea, if you see a Young Living website, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!! <grin> Take care and good luck, Hugs, Marilyn Chris Ziegler wrote: > Oh, > Figure anything expensive is adulterated regularly .. and anything they > try to give a standard smell to (like lavender) .... > Awww heck, almost everything is adulterated, and almost NOBODY (except > Butch) puts his paperwork where his mouth is about the purity of his oils! > Many of the even " professional aromatherapists " buy their oils from > CHEAPIE wholesale places that say they can't guarantee the purity and > don't try to or have even gotten busted tainting their oils! Guest guest
Soooooo true, you never-ever have to question Butch's oils, you always know you're getting a totally pure oil! And he'd " better " be your personal favorite! ROFLMAO! For the record, I also don't question " your " oils! :-P Hugs, Marilyn Chris Ziegler wrote: > > Hi, > > > > Chris, unfortunately, you're right...........but I've a couple > > suppliers like > > I'm sure you do as well that will put their money where their mouths are. > > Yes yes, of course!!!!!! > > I just said there are very FEW, and Butch is one of them (and just so > happens to be my personal fave ) > > *Smile* > Chris (list mom) > http://www.alittleolfactory.com > > > My Pictures of Aromatic Plants and Exotic Places In Turkey > http://members.home.net/chrisziggy1/triptoturkey.html > >
Guest guest
I agree there is alot of crapola out there...many commercial lines commonly sold, with high price tags are not really that great, either...some are- that is what got me into this business- is the unreliability of product quality...I worked for years as a massage therapist and came across great variability in price and quality- so I decided to source my own. Butch's oils are some of my favorites- and all of my suppliers provide GCs for the batch they are selling me- not just " one of the batches of the 'same' oil " - and there arent very many suppliers who do! Dont be afraid to ask a lot of questions- a reputable supplier will happily answer them... Michelle
