I never knew you were in Wisconsin. and welcome to Dr. Mike - another person from Wisconsin! (I am in IL - about 20 miles from the WI border.) We have a VERY large Florida group here. Guest guest
Hiya and welcome to both Shivani and Dr. Mike, I'm in Florida.. BUT, I'm really from Connnecticut.........have only lived here less than two years and have to say I don't miss the snow and ice a bit! Great to have new members from anywhere/everywhere - the more, the merrier... (or something like that!) Anyways, great to meet ya. Sorry to all that are losing your INet connection due to @home - WOW, I'm on dial-up (Ugh, you got that right!) and had @home in Connecticut and always really liked it.. seems since it was all over the place (except here.. <grinz>) makes me wonder how in heck or WHY in heck it's bankrupt! Hugs, Marilyn - waiting for a puter cable modems in Florida... and waiting and waiting.. delkster wrote: > Welcome Shivani, > I must have missed your intro post as I was no mail for a few days. Guest guest
Marilyn~ You guys don't have any cable internet companies there?? We have both Knology and Comcast here. (Comcast sells @home) Doesn't help me much now since I've told off knology for being morons and @home is in danger of losing service, LOL! Oh well! Guest guest
Hiya Kelly, Well.. we " thought " that everywhere in Florida had one.. and then found out after moving to good ole Palm Coast that IF we'd moved " only " 10 minutes in any direction............(duh!) we'd have been able to get Roadrunner... course, here we are and finally, after over a year, a company named Shaw out of Canada bought our cable company and is busily doing the lines for the modems for the puters... course, this place is in alphabetic order <street names>, (NOT kidding!!!!!!!!! ) and they're on the E's and we're in the W's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're getting real good at waiting!!!!!!!!! But.. if you've told of one of your companies and the other may/is going to cuz they're bankrupt, I've gotten e-mails from friends all over the place saying the same thing who had @home.. and you " have " to go back to dial-up (temporarily) - like we thought we were doing, if you join Earthlink.net for 3 months, they give you a free scanner and inkjet printer - we had ours within a week, made us feel a little better!!!!!!!!!!!! Till then,...........we wait!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with your services there! Hugs, Marilyn Kelly Dyer wrote: > Marilyn~ > > You guys don't have any cable internet companies there?? Guest guest
Oh no! What bad luck!!!! But, wow, Earthlink sounds pretty good when you get a free scanner and printer! nice! I think it'd kill me to go back to dial up though, LOL!! Knology's cable service was awesome, but the people were idiots!! We'd get our bill like 4 or 5 days after it was DUE...and I'd call the office asking how much so I can just pay it when it is actually due and they would refuse to tell me...nuts!! My husband is a sales counsler at Circuit City, and hes the Broadband lead, so Comcast (@home) is giving us free cable internet through them (can't turn down a freebie! lol!). The @home rep says that worst case senario with this whole excite bankruptcy is that we'll be without service up to 2 weeks, and someone else will take over for us....but he said if that were to happen it would have been on the 1st? So I'm lost! I just cross my fingers when I sit down to the computer that it is still online! LMAO!
