Guest guest
Howdy folks, Last Yule season, in my internet travels, I came across this recipe and bookmarked it. I figured I'd pass it along cause it looks pretty nice To make this a dried, decorative, potpourri (which can eventually be simmered too) .. I'd use 6 small cinnamon sticks, or break 3 larger ones, slice the oranges and lemons thin and either either dry them in a food dehydrator or place them one layer deep on a cookie sheet in an oven on the lowest temperature setting possible (other than off ), and I'd add a few drops each essential oils of cinnamon (leaf), bay laurel and orange to it after all the dried ingredients were mixed ..... *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://southernfood.miningco.com/library/holiday/blxm189.htm Christmas Potpourri 3 cinnamon sticks 3 bay leaves 1/4 c. whole cloves 1/2 lemon, halved 1/2 orange, halved 1 qt. water Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer as long as desired (may use crock pot). Check often and add additional water if needed. Mixture may be stored in refrigerator several days and reused. Makes your house smell great.
