Guest guest
Long Johns are a must here during certain times of the Winter weather season. Now for some quick winter warming tips .... showering with a mild Peppermint Soap is a good way to start a cold day .. Peppermint actually cools the body in summer and warms it in winter! Cayenne pepper powder in the socks (if you aren't allergic to it) is a way to keep the feet warm .. Rosemary is good for circulation and the EO is nice added to lotion for use in winter .... and last but not least - keep your head covered as most heat escapes that way ..... Hope everyone is feeling toasty warm this winter .... *Smile* Chris (list mom) Celtic Sea Salt - On Sale - Last Days http://www.alittleolfactory.com Doug & Linda Manley wrote: Marilyn, When you said that everyone there was cold...it reminded me of when we lived in FL, years ago. My hubby worked nights at the Winn Dixie warehouse...jockeying semis around. Well...it was an unusually cold winter that year and he mentioned something to one of his co-workers about having to dig out his long johns to wear to work. The co-worker had no idea what long-johns were. We northerners got a kick out of that one!! Guest guest
In da UP of Michigan. I admit I exagerated a bit, we did have a good whole month of August, excruciatingly hot to me, some 80's and 90's. We have gotten our 30's already and now it is in the 40's. Heat wave compared to what is in store for us. The weather went mild a few years ago and now it is getting back to normal. Prolly about ten years ago(not sure) we had a winter that was -40 for weeks, it seemed like Sault Ste Marie had a new frozen water main every night. Most of the city was on 'let run' that winter. We had an influx of owls, I think great grays that normally only inhabit arctic areas. Weather fluctuates in what appears to be 7-10 yr cycles. I don't mind, I love it up here. DH talks about moving somewhere warmer(he's from here) and tries to tempt me by talking about better gardening elsewhere. I'll only want to move when it gets crowded here. If there's no where else to go I'll put up a 10 ft privacy fence around all our woods. I can dream I guess. -Ilene, a Yooper for 24 years, a Michigander forever. > > Wow, Ilene! > > Where are you????
