After The Birth Care For Mama Down There

After I gave birth the one thing I wish I had so badly, and now I also

wish I knew to really bother for it looking back in hindsight - was a

sitz bath. I was in the hospital for 5 day after giving birth to my son

due to him having a very bad case of jaundice (his bilirubin levels were

in the 20's) all signs point to that being due to the Vitamin K shot

(but we won't get into that here now) ... So for all that time I did not

get a sitz bath AND the foam medication I got for " down there " actually

inflamed me so very badly that I could not walk, sit, lay down, excrete,

anything, without very very severe pain for DAYS (and I DID not tear,

yet that Epi-foam stuff only used a few times for one day killed me so

badly!). I actually cupped water and lavender oil in my hands in the

hospital shower to do a make shift kind of sitz bath area soak .... but

anyway .. as soon as I got home I made a real sitz bath and the water

was a blend that contained chamomile tea, whole milk (to disperes the

next ingredient) and lavender essential oil. Within a day I felt SOOOO

much better it was amazing!

They gave you a foam? yowzers! I got this nice squirt bottle that I filled with hot water and used every time I was in the bathroom. And I DID tear! Healed up very nicely.

Hugs!

hey all

This helps SO much- ick, never heard of epi foam- yikes- I am so sorry!!...

With my first we made ice packs by filling condoms with water and sticking

them in the freezer- that was good for right after- a good shape to place

over the whole yoni- then cool lavender tea compresses.

With the boy we did the ice condom again and then cool comfrey and lavender

compresses...then i made an aloe vera/lavender/tea tree blend that I

slathered on the pads- that was GREAT.
