Guest guest
Hiya Chris, all.. I have sympathy for anyone who's scared during all this.. and around here where there's not that many jobs to be had without really traveling, (ok, not counting Walmart! lol), people stay and work scared. UPS and FedEx are starting to sound pretty good to me and I've noticed more and more are switching over to them.. you're right, we've lived a very spoiled life for far too long. I'll be inconvienced anytime to avoid all that's happened here so far, and look at all the post offices that are currently closed............ oh well. Easy to say get another job, - but take into account that also means giving up benefits, etc. - figure also if I wouldn't feel safe working at the post office (and I wouldn't about now), guess I can sure sympathize with those who already are.........the terrorists have been doing a darned good job of shutting down a good part of our country, not to mention destroying lives and the World Trade Center. These aren't amateurs......... Reality and Harsh are getting another job that won't support or even begin to support families. Many have no choice " but " to work scared. Hugs, Marilyn PS - didn't mean to shock ya! ;-) Christine Ziegler wrote: > Marilyn, > > Of all people, to hear that from YOU, I'm shocked!*LOL* > > Sorry but I have little sympathy for sending packages through the mail > just cause the postal folks working are " Nervous Nellies " or " Antsy " , > for good reasons or not. Guest guest
All I have to say regarding postal workers, or any other job that becomes " scary " for ANY reason .... do the benefits outweigh the risks? If so, then put up and deal (or complain when you get home ). I have been paid far less than postal workers and had the bomb threat manual in my desk drawer and been told by at least one Department Manager " Remember that weird guy who came in for an interview yesterday in my department? " there were 20 folks a day coming in for that job " Well, he called very threatening earlier today, so if he comes in, and is violent, just call somebody " . GREEEATTT - My choice to stay or go, benes or not, rough economy or not, ya know! And even as far as Walmart goes .. well I've always been promoted to mamagemet in every retail job I've had, so I feel confident I'd be one of the folks to grow with the that very large opportunistic company (with benes too) I can get a job with the post office now, or at Rocky Flat cleaning up at the former nuclear waste storage site starting at $14 per hr plus good benefits .... Do the benes outweigh the risks .... *Smile* Chris (Evil Evil List Mom Wicked Witch Of The West) I guess this Independent Liberal is just becoming more conservative in my old age My XH with waist long hair is the same way too! It just happens sometimes *LOL* , Marilyn Nicholson <menicholson7@e...> wrote: > Hiya Chris, all.. > > I have sympathy for anyone who's scared during all this.. and around here > where there's not that many jobs to be had without really traveling, (ok, not > counting Walmart! lol), people stay and work scared.
