Guest guest
I figure it would be brown cuz all the spices are brown in color. Helaine
Guest guest
I made st johns wort infused oil with the flowers....it is a pretty red color but the soap I used it in did not come out red at all. I used green and blue colorants and I swirled it in the soap....I was expecting some red tint where the soap was white. Helaine

Guest guest
Well I think now that I have made homemade soap that it is not that hard once you get a recipe that works for you. I found mine by playing with what I had and what I knew different oils would do to my recipe! Now I have an awesome recipe!!! I just stay away from browns cuz those colors just don't appeal to me unless it was an oatmeal honey soap! I use rainwater in my soap but I do that cuz I am from the Pacific Northwet area ! Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, Rose turns brown .. paprika makes a nice coraly pinky orangy color in CP soap and a brick red to orange in M & P soap ... Soap does weird stuff to herb colors and dye herbs (and even food coloring doesn't hold up in CP at all), very few things stay their original color - parsley stays green and tumeric stays yellow, but they are exceptions. I once used beet juice in a M & P soap .. it started out pink and faded to a golden yellow over the course of 3 days and stayed that color ..... go figure! Have a fun and SAFE weekend everyone! *Smile* Chris (list mom) JASMINE SAMBAC ABSOLUTE CO-OP- LAST DAY! ORDERS 30 ML AND OVER TAKE 10% OFF THE 10 ML PRICE! Guest guest
Since it is mostly cinnamon ... it'll make a nice brown I made my pumpkin pie soap with those spices and since it has pumpkin in the recipe, the soap is a bright orange with little specks of brown spice (like pumpkin pie actually!) *Smile*Chris (list mom)JASMINE SAMBAC ABSOLUTE CO-OP- LAST DAY!ORDERS 30 ML AND OVER TAKE 10% OFF THE 10 ML PRICE!ORDERS 120 ML AND OVER TAKE 15% OFF THE 10 ML PRICE! herbandteas wrote: What would pumpkin spice blend color cp soap? Guest guest
Hi Helaine.......all, Wow, that's strange, huh? You'd think it'd have been red. I have the dried herb.. bet it'd come out brown or some as-yet unknown color! (probably a good thing I stick to potpourri's instead of soaps, mine would probably be all black or just plain UGLY! <grin>) Chris- did I get that pricing right? We don't get all that much rain other than a couple months which are rainy season.........other than that, we water things And, our water here is awful! Guest guest
that oil is so decadent, i would not use it in soap! seems to fragile to me........i'd prolly opt to use it in m & p or make a nice rich cream. did you infuse the flowers yourself? i'm jealous! - herbandteas I made st johns wort infused oil with the flowers....it is a pretty red color but the soap I used it in did not come out red at all

Guest guest
I wonder if the SJW will dye when its dry...because the tincture and the infused oil need to be made from fresh flowering tops- dried SJW is pretty much done for- as far as the constituents go... Guest guest
Hehehehe We had a good turn out of little goblins too.
