Guest guest
Hi y'all, I'm ONE HUNDRED PERCENT in agreement with Sue .. I defy anyone to show me the slightest bit of proof of the existence of vibrational effects in an essential oil. I've heard all the humma-humma about the EO being the life blood of the plant, etc., ad nauseum .. it just ain't so! First .. the EO is not even a mirror reflection of a plant because the EO contains ONLY the non-water soluable chemical constituents of the aromatic material .. the hydrosol contains both the water-soluable and some of the EO so we can say it more closely (from an analysis standpoint) resembles the actual chemical profile of the aromatic materials. Secondly .. if there was such energy to begin with, we have to look at the effects that would occur from BOILING as there is no essential oil made that has not been exposed to such a temperature. Finally .. there has NEVER been any instrument or device created that can measure these so-called vibrations. There is a tale of a Young Living scientist having invented one but if you know anything about YL, you will automatically disregard that info .. besides, there have been no Noble Prizes presented to anyone for such a feat and if someone ever invents such a contraption, you can bet your booty they will get one. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors in this AT game - different folks are coming up with different esoteric philosophies and theories to make their pitch appear to be unique .. and others, especially those who know Jack Schidt about the actual chemical complexities and contents of an EO, like to jump on that bandwagon. It's much easier to have unique angle that is difficult to criticize than it is to learn about EOs .. kinda like seeing the Emperor's New Clothes .. what, you didn't experience those vibes? ;-p Sorry if this rubs anyone wrong but it just isn't worth continuing to support these off-the-wall ideas if one wants to be taken seriously in this business .. of course, one can always find some who will believe as they do and together, they can get real excited about the vibes .. but I betcha they will not be invited to many discussions with serious AT practitioners or those who deal with EOs for a living. :-( Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com PS: I have no problem with folks who talk to their plants .. seriously. I do have problems with folks who tell me their plants answer them. The problems I have then are credibility problems. > I remember seeing a post about irradiation damaging the 'vibrations and spirit of the oil' well here is my take. > > Having been irradiated so much as to cause permanent physiological and physical damage, my spirit and 'vibrations' are still alive and well. > > Molecular changes may be possible but it is still the same oil, vibrational is perceived by an individual not the oil. Regarding the 'cr--p' about its psychological affect, that is also individually perceived and an oil that calms lady D still can drive Lady B to the bathroom to throw up. > Would be interesting to see actual viable study on the affect of irradiation on eo's. > > Sue
