Inquiring minds want to know - exactly how much water, witch hazel and borax plus amounts of eo's. there are those of us who need an exact recipe. :-)) Also, I have never heard of that base. Is there a reason you use it over alcohol (vodka) and distilled water? Just curious.

Thanks and have a great day.

I make my spritzer blends up in a spray bottle (about 4 oz), I use a base of water, witch hazel and borax (like I do with all of my room spray bases now). I uses a total of about 10-15 drops of EO - lately I have been using Cinnamon leaf, Clove bud and Eucalyptus glob. Makes a nice room spray, surface germ killer spray, anti-anthrax mail spray (and anyhting else nasty liing on the mail) ;).. and I decided for the heck of it I may spray my mail BEFORE I send it too .. what the heck , it can't hurt and maybe if an Anthrax spore lands on it the spore will be killed!

Chris:

Thanks for the recipe. I know a few people that are trying to use a spray of

bleach/water. I don't care for bleach (the smell) and it's a little too

dangerous for my liking. I think that we will all like your spray (safer

too)!

Hi Tammy, all...

Spray's a good idea.. BUT, the eo's being volatile, don't they just evaporate in

the mailbox or on the mail? Just wondering..............

Hugs,

Marilyn - don't like bleach either! :)

Thanks so much Chris and I have all the eos to make it too! My daughter has

had a fever for a couple of days now. She slept through the night last

night, so I'm hoping she's over it. My husband and I have been a

little concerned because she usually doesn't have them for more than a day.

We have been giving her Colloidal Silver and childrens Advil when needed and

that may be why its lasted longer. Usually we just give her the Advil.

Well I didn't mean to go on about it, but this Anthrax thing has got us more

aware of things now and the mail, we always get a ton so we want to be

careful too.

Thanks again,

Josephene

Hi Patti, All :)

PACorapi wrote:

Inquiring minds want to know - exactly how much water,

Just shy of 3 oz water

witch hazel

Just shy of 1 oz witch hazel

and borax

A pinch of borax, like a knife tip scoop of it

plus amounts of eo's.

About 15 drops total .. blend according to your nose's preferences :)

there are those of us who need an exact recipe. :-))

Sorry, for the most part I'm a "pinch of this and a handful of that" kinda

cook ;)

Also, I have never heard of that base. Is there a reason you use it over

alcohol (vodka) and distilled water? Just curious.

I like to use the witch hazel cause like alcohol it disperses the oil well,

but rubbing alcohol ruins anything with its harsh scent and Everclear smells

too .. boozy to me ;) I add the borax as an emulsifier, it helps keeps the

blend together after its shaken for a longer time :)

Thanks and have a great day.

You too! Have a happy and SAFE weekend everyone!
