Guest guest
Now Roaches is different....we use to live in an apartment that had them bad so I would bomb every month til we finally moved out. My kids would wake up with them in their hair. Helaine

This is a poll type question ..... how many folks here, in addition to Cindy and myself actually go out of there way to transfer as many bugs out of the house as possible? I must have " escorted " at least a dozen bees out in the past two weeks! Most spiders I leave be, but a few ugly ones go out into the yard (okay I did murder the one black widow in my kitchen but that is the ONLY SPIDER, EVER that I've killed!) *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleoflactory.com
Guest guest
Spiders I leave, bees (read yellowjackets, not honeybees) I shoo, but if they don't go, they get squished, moths get captured and released, box elder bugs..well hey they don't eat anything, so why bother. Earwigs! Now those bugs gross me out, esp when I had to fish a live one out of AJ's mouth, bleck! Those black little millipedes are usually dead when I find them in the garage, so they get swept out. -- ------ Who Wills, Can. Who Tries, Does. Guest guest
LOL! You sound like me Chris!! I'm forever scooping little insect critters up into something and escorting it outside...or shushing something out the door.... I'm deathly terrified of spiders, I'll scream and scream and my husband will try to kill it and I'll scream not to hurt it, to help it outside...WAY into the backyard, LMAO!! If I see one while he is at work...I'll just plain old avoid that room for the entire day! LOL! Nuts what a phoba will do to you! And Yikes, that black widow in your kitchen needed to be murdered...we have a family friend that was in a cast for like 6 years after she was stung by a black widow on her leg....it was such a shame!!! ~*~ Kelly ~*~ ) who covers her eyes when she sees cartoon spiders on tv, LOL!!! - chrisziggy Saturday, October 27, 2001 11:26 AM Bug Transfers (Was: story for Michele & Marilyn) >>>heck I don't even kill bugs - many a bug transfer from our old >farmhouse to outside on a daily basis >Okay .... :)This is a poll type question ..... how many folks here, in addition to Cindy and myself actually go out of there way to transfer as many bugs out of the house as possible? Didn't kill it though .. well, not intentionally ! We tried to find somewhere to take it - some places around here will take venomous spiders to milk & we thought we might find someone who does something like that with scorpions, but it died a few hours later. Guess the cat had damaged it too much. Jane :-))
Guest guest
Sorry, spiders are usually future carcasses to me. Garfield is my role model except that I dont have conversations with them before flattening them, I think that's rude. Bees and such I try to escort out, wasps and I have a mutual vendetta so they are dispatched with as soon as I can sneak up on them hopefully before they can sneak up on me. Horse and deer flies are also regarded as persona non grata as they have no manners. Lady bugs go outside, flies are smart enough to stay out of my reach after I miss them the first time altho they often get a permanent place on the 'strip'. We dont really get many flies so they are just a reminder to make sure everythign is covered and put away. Moths usually go back out assuming they dont' get too damaged in the capture portion of the rescue. Now in the greenhouse, it's a different story, as long as the spiders dont get obnoxious and pushy (like webbing the door closed so I can't get in or putting out a long web at just the right heighth to breathe up my nose as I walk past it and they dont fool me I can hear those tiny little spider giggles!)they have pretty much a home year around until they get too numerous then the population has to be culled. That's pretty much when they form the gangs and lay the above mentioned traps. The population usually drops towards spring anyhow as it gets chilly in the corners and any mites and such slow down their raunchy little sex parties and stop reproducing for a while and so do the spiders. Oh and the rats in the wood pile, I'm sorry but they get stomped. Mice are cute but they are the only thing we condone our GS to hunt, oh and chase away th egroundhog and squirrels that are tryign to move in with us. Mice are not cute in my house, the geriatric cat just watches them, I think she can find other things to amuse herself with, like the centipedes that come in on the wood. However, in her senility she likely is looking to try and figure out what they are, she certainly never tries to stop any. She used to hunt flies and moths but she's over the hill now and can't even jump up on the counter but we love her anyway. DD will gently sweep spiders outside anywhere but here at home.lol Then she gets murderous, she lost her tolerance when a critter the size of a small tarantula wanted to come down in the kitchen and sit down beside her. She vacuumed that one up and it was so huge we were able to easily identify the body in the vacuum bag the next day. She no longer eats her curds and whey in the kitchen anymore. Picture this little person, all of 100+ pounds standing on a kitchen counter with a vacuum yelling and hollering like a Marine going into battle as she sucked that beasty up. She was afraid it was going to grab ahold of the end of the hose attachment and crawl out and come after her.She called us at work and told us about it from the beginning of the episode so we had to tallk her thru all this so she wouldnt' freak. It was hilarious. How many 23 yr olds call up their Dad and say there is this huge spider in here and what do I do? Guess we're just a bunch of terrible critter murderers. -Ilene, the Unrepentant Slaughterer of Millions(ok maybe thousands) > > Okay .... > This is a poll type question ..... how many folks here, in addition to > > Cindy and myself actually go out of there way to transfer as many bugs > > out of the house as possible? Guest guest
I put things out but don't like handling spiders. David - husband - is very good at this. Once when we were at a friends house he was asked by the near hysterical owner to get rid of a spider. It was winter and he is very soft particularly for a big hairy Scotsman!! Deciding it was an 'inside' spider he picked it up, opened the back door and then shut it again loudly while he dropped the fortunate spider behind the fridge!
