Ah more warm and fuzzy memories of Rooster.

We Had one called Rusty. Nastiest thing that ever walked the planet.

Wouldn't even let me in the back garden. Would chase me out into the road.

Stupid thing (guess he wasn't all THAT stupid ;-) wouldn't go out in the

road himself, but he figured that's where I belonged.

He got his though. He attacked my mother one time when her back was turned.

She had a hoe in her hand at the time, she swung and we had fried chicken.

The only time I ever enjoyed eating one of the birds!

We also had a rooster called Gormless. He was mine. Sweet tempered thing he

was. Probably because he had a gimpy leg and was picked on. At anyrate after

a particularily bad time in with the other birds, we put him in the garage.

Unfortunately my Uncle Michael was visiting. My mother threatened me that if

that Rooster announced the morning at 5am, he was back out with the others.

Sure enough 5am showed up, and Gormless began bugeling. I ran out there,

stopped him, stroked him, pleaded with him, begged him not to do it, and he

started again.

Ur Ur Ur guuuuuurrrrrrrrggggglllllllllle. I shoved his head in the water

dish. He was none the worse for wear, just a little shocked and a bit wet.

Cheers!
