Yo Deonia,

Read the rest of my post below ... you cut out the answer .. ;-p

So .. as a last resort .. when it gets down to them telling me to put

down my pet .. what do we have to lose by trying anything?

BUT - as an alternative to putting the pet down, fear would/should not

be an issue. I had a Brittney kennel when I was in Georgia .... mighty

beautiful dogs they are. Mama had a liter of 14 .. within hours it was

obvious the pups had parvo. Called the vet and he said no cure he could

recommend BUT if it were his pups he'd do his best to see didn't die and

dehydration or starvation would kill them .. said if they were his, he'd

give'em glucose.

This is NOT a normal treatment for dogs .. I went to the hospital and

got a bag from a buddy .. and a buncha hypodermic needles. These pups

were dying by the hour .. if diarrhea doesn't kill them they get too

weak to nurse and starve to death. The pups were so small they could

get lost in your hand. Every two hours for 72 hours my son switched

off getting up to shoot glucose under the skin on the pups ... and

canned mother's milk down their throats with an eye dropper. Pups often

gagged and one died of strangulation .. I think. To make a long story

short .. instead of losing all those pups two of them survived and grew

up to be fine dogs.

So .. that gives you more reason to try unorthodox methods as opposed to

accepting a final decision of putting the dog down .. what do either of

you have to lose?

Good luck .. and keep smiling, Butch
