I know what you're going

thru when you say she's your heart. And no, we haven't gotten another

dog.........yet.

Sending love, hope and comfort and a hug,

Marjlyn, I have never cried as I read a post but I can hardly see to write this reply for the tears in my eyes. Right now, Rosy is laying by my feet on the hard floor, instead of the soft comforter I keep on the bedroom floor for her to lay on ( she is no longer able to jump up on the bed where she has ALWAYS slept with me ) And my faithful little black cat, KissiKat ( actually , Switchblade is a better name for her. LOL) is lounging on the back of my computer chair. She occasionally gets down to drink some of my iced tea {{{{{ smile }}}}} And, sarge, my amputee is laying on the other side of my chair. They go from room to room with me. The rest of my, more independent , fur-babies are scattered around the house getting in and out of their favorite things. Rosey dowsn't seem to be suffering at this point, just doesn't do some of the things she used to love to do. If she was, there is no doubt that i would relieve her pain. I just want to keep her with me as long as possible. and I know that's selfish of me but I love her so much........Thank you for your loving gesture. It helpes to know someone else understands and doesn't think i'm crazy because of my devotion to her. Lovingly, deonia

Deonia,

We had a wonderful golden retriever for 17 years..

As he aged his physical body showed the signs, but his

mental body was that of a pup. When my parents would

come over my father would say (why don't you put him

out of his pain?) I said do you live with him 24-7 , how

do you know that he is in such pain? I lovingly told my

father that when it was time to help Buddy would let me

know.. I believed this with all my heart. Sure enough

one day when I came home he was having a very hard

time breathing and I could feel him asking for help.

I just wish that it could have been a different kind of help.

Now that is me being selfish, after all could I expect more

than 17 wonderful years with this gentle soul? He taught

my husband and myself many valuable lessons over

the years. We still miss him, even with all our other

4 legged and feathered friends.

Blessings to all,

Sandi
