Guest guest
Hey Janet, > Butch, Chris- > > Ok now I am full of questions. In my oil cabinet I have 20ml of Oregano, > Spanish, Thymus capitatus, at least that is what the label says, it also > shows country of origin being Turkey and Butch has told me that does not > exist there. So I am assuming I would not benefit from taking this for > a cold. Make no assumptions .. we already know the seller doesn't know what they are selling - or they don't care. If you write me - offline or on - I can give you my opinion of whether that company should be believed at all. The issue of Thymus capitatus being from Turkey need not be discussed as it is NOT an oil produced here. We have the plant but not in a quanity sufficient to produce a commercial oil and I know EVERY Turkish distiller and their brother .. nobody is producing it here. There is another company selling Turkish Jasmine Absolute .. a British company. The last Jasmine produced in Turkey was in summer 1986 by my good friend and distiller, Namit Mumcuoglu .. in fact, Namit was the only person to EVER produce it commercially here. As a matter of trivia ... Mumcuoglu means .. Son of the Candlemaker .. ;-p > Any opinions. Probably would benefit most by discarding this since I > question what is really is... My opinion is .. you probably would benefit most by discarding it since you can only question what it really is. ;-p Really, you don't need to dump it .. use it for disinfecting things around the house. > I did find this site > http://www.florihana.com/school/html_ang/aromatogram.htm > Alain Durante, Florial, France > Sylvie Malerba, biologist, I do not know anything about this person. An interesting site .. France has a different mentality toward EOs than does the USA and French AT practitioners are a different breed of cat too. I sell oils to France but there are few I would buy from there - my French wildgrown high altitude Lavender is an exception .. it tested fine. I see that they say .. " Spanish Oregano (Thymus capitatus) is more effective against Staphylococcus aureus (vaginal sample) than French Oregano (Origanum sylvestris). " Not sure if that's a strong statement as I'm not sure how powerful this O. sylvestris is .. it is a sub-species or maybe even a cultivar but it's not all that recognizable. BUT - I do have scientific studies showing that O. onites, O. vulgare and O. dubium totally destroy a number of Streps and Staphs. For those who might not know, staph is what kills folks in hospitals - it lives there and is one of the reasons some folks don't do so well in hospitals .. :-( > My gut tells me to get some Olio Verde from the Ayvalik region of > western Turkey and some Oregano Oil, Origanum vulgare, Carvacrol 71.3%, > show I am not a wimp, and just do it. Haw Haw He He .. ;-p As for the Olive Oil .. it is a prize winner for sure .. see http://www.AV-AT.com/oliveoil.html As for the Origanum vulgare 71.3% .... it's sold out in wholesale and retail. Having more distilled now but it will be more than a month afore it gets to Maryland. I do have O. dubium 71.8% and O. onites 68.11% and there is NO DIFFERENCE in these oils as for therapeutic value - you can see them at http://www.AV-AT.com/prices.html > Thanks for being patient with this old gal. What patience? I'm not patient ... and I betcha I was born afore you and I am not old ... I am, however, a gud ol' kuntry boy ... ;-p > ((Hugs)) > Janet And to y'all .. and keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > Janet Keene Golden M.H., L.M.T., H.At. > 2024 Kendall Avenue, Suite 4 > Madison, Wisconsin 53705 > 608.238.9442 voice > 305.847.8331 fax
