Guest guest
Butch, Chris- Ok now I am full of questions. In my oil cabinet I have 20ml of Oregano Sapnish, Thymus capitatus, at least that is what the label says, it also shows country of origin being Turkey and Butch has told me that does not exist there. So I am assuming I would not benefit from taking this for a cold. Any opinions. Probably would benefit most by discarding this since I question what is really is... I did find this site http://www.florihana.com/school/html_ang/aromatogram.htm Alain Durante, Florial, France Sylvie Malerba, biologist, I do not know anything about this person. My gut tells me to get some Olio Verde from the Ayvalik region of western Turkey and some Oregano Oil, Origanum vulgare, Carvacrol 71.3%, show I am not a wimp, and just do it. Thanks for being patient with this old gal. ((Hugs)) Janet ---------- " May those that love us love us. And those that do not love us, May the good Lord turn their hearts. Guest guest
Hi Michelle, Y'all ... I was once the supplier to a doctor who peddles his Oils of this and that (to include Origanum) on radio and other media means .. I'm sure you have heard him - sold him a few thousand kilos of oregano EO - and it was NOT all Origanum vulgare .. though he claims to only deal in that. ;-p He calls his products Oil of this and that because they are mixed with Olive Oil .. still, he could call them essential oils and olive oil. Anyway .. he visited Turkey once and I can say that he and his lady friend practice what they preach .. they were popping capsules of oregano and other EO often throughout the day. But he didn't keep them in the caps - he put the EO in just before taking it. I'd not recommend folks keep the EO in the cap cause it might just eat right through. I've not taken it that way because I want some bennies from that oil on the way down to the meat bag .. across the tonsils and down the throat. Taking it in a cap (methinks) is effective but we are not real sure what chemical changes occur when all those stomach acids greet that EO as it hatches from that cap - huh? Still .. there will be therapeutic benefit .. no question of that as carvacrol is one heavy hitting, butt kicking chemical component. As for burping it .. I don't do that often but when I do it doesn't bother me as I like oregano and oregano oil - oregano tea and hydrosol too. Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > I have put oregano in a capsule with a little olive oil- > goes down easy- and I still burp oregano!!! > I kinda like the zip it has when taken with honey, though! > Michelle
