Hi Chris & All,

I guess the subject says it all ;-)

I know the difference between the extra virgin & pomace olive oils, but would

like to know more about how they are different in soapmaking. Is the fast trace

the only noticeable difference, or does the soap come out differently somehow

too ?? Inquisitive newbie soapmaker here !!

Blessings,

Jane :-))

Hi Jane :)

Aside from the fast trace, the Olive Pomace makes a pretty green soap

(where as the supermarket Virgin Olive makes a more golden, or even

whitish color soap). I also find that the Olive Pomace (at least the

water extracted one I use) makes a very " smooth " soap that I don't get

quite the same from the Virgin Olive Oil (I am having some trouble

describing in words what I am trying to here). It might have something

to do with the different acidity levels of the different Olive Oils

(Extra Virgin being the lowest in acidity ... up to Pomace being the

highest).
