Hi Michelle,

I agree .... and I think we will never smell anything like it again. It

was a freak of nature .... a wildgrown plant. Contrary to the rumors in

AT that Lavandin is only a hybrid and/or clone and can't reproduce.

This was a crop in a forgotten field that I stumbled upon while I was

out searching for another plant.

Glad you like that sage .. it's Salvia fruticosa. syn. triloba .. common

name Turkish/Greek Sage, wildgrown and endemic to this area .. very low

in thujone - less than 2%.

> So what did you do with those lavandin plants? Get rid of them and

> plant the stoechas?

No .. once they were harvested that was it.. there was no more, They

had volunteered and to some degree reproduced themselves but it was

doubtful that they could have seeded. Sort of like a volunteer crop of

turnips or tomatoes or watermelons .. not something that will carry over

into another year. Professor Baser called that crop a freak crop. ;-p

One of the things that is unusual about that wild Lavandin is the earthy

odor. MANY Lavandins are " doctored " with linalool or linalool acetate to

make them smell nice .. folks are used to sweet smelling lavandin but in

truth there is no sweet smelling lavandin .. at least I have never

smelled a pure, unadulterated lavandin that I would call sweet.

I am sold out of the bulk/wholesale batch of that lavandin - BUT there

are still 20 ml bottles on my retail website and right now, they're

$4.78 with 20% off .. total of $3.82. Hard to beat that - and that 20%

sale is about to become history ... ;-p I offer retail as a courtesy

anyway - not a big money maker .. my bills are paid with wholesale and

bulk sales.

> Hmm. I do like the stoechas as well- I use that to spritz around the

> house and for many other potions...he he hwa hwa.... Michelle

I like it too .. different use than the Lavandula angustifolia .. but it

has a very unique odor and it will energize ... ;-)

Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
