Guest guest Posted October 16, 2001 Report Share Posted October 16, 2001 Chris asked me to post my recipe for lotion bars! Its real easy and great for the winter chapped lips and dry skin. I use a real simple basic recipe: 2 parts beeswax 1 part cocoa butter 1 part carrier oil Eo's of your choice (i like Chamomile in mine or natural scent of beeswax) Melt them together in a double boiler (ok i actually nuke mine in a glass measuring bowl:-) and pour into molds.. i use ice cube trays becasue they make nice small bars for in my purse. I only pour then about half full and stick them in baggies when cooled. add your own eo's ect and have fun. It is , after all a petroleum product. There is some concern at this point about burning the candles, as the smoke is thought to be toxic. Many people are switching to soy wax if they are against using beeswax. I certainly wouldnt eat it!! Is there anything in particular you are looking for? I mainly make paraffin votives and pillar candles (round, square pillars) using both FO's and EO's (can't get chocolate etc scent in an EO ), and beeswax votives (both unscented and scented) My votives are $1.25 each, and the pillars depend on size and weight, they run about $4.00 a pound.
