HI Angie,

Shea butter is a solid at room temperature fixed fat (or butter). Shea butter comes from a nut, from a tree, in Africa. Traditionally only women were allowed to harvest it (I saw a whole documentary about Shea butter and olives on the over 28 hours of round trip in air time to/from Turkey this past May/June) It is very moisturizing and a VERY nice ingredient, especially if you get the kind that is NOT solvent extracted and unrefined It is also called Karite butter.
