Guest guest
Hello everyone I feel a bit guilty that I joined the group, got my wonderful rose oil from the co-op, contributed just a tiny bit to the group and have then been silent! But I've been reading the group, while your country has gone through hell and back and seeing all your reactions and the obvious love that you all have for your country and your people. I 'spose in a way I feel a little bit privileged to have been listening in to you all, a bit like being a fly on the wall on some great family gathering, as it seems you all know each other really well! Where else could the subject range from serious discussions on retaliation, through diapers and cake recipies to zits and their treatment! Mind you, you all get on so well, could it really be a family?! And of course there's the difference in language and in weights and measures. I know about diapers (nappies) cup measurements (ounces or grams) but what's a stick of butter? and what's Sacanat? There's more but I can't remember them just now. As well as an aromatherapist I'm also a beekeeper and belong to a beekeepers list which has several members from USA and Canada. My knowledge of geography is growing all the time! I've been interested in the NAHA discussions and joined idma to follow it up aswe've had all sorts of problems here with our associations, and I really do like your idea Butch, of a manager who has nothing to do with aromatherapy. So, as a distant cousin of the family (!) I'm just asking what you think the carriage charge would be for the 50 scoops to come over to UK? and is the jasmine coming up soon? That's it, enough of my burble Look forward to hearing from you re the carriage cost Regards to all Ann - Scotland
Guest guest
Dear Ann, So good to see you are on the list and enjoying it. 1 stick of butter is 1/4 of a pound. Our butter comes in 4 sticks to the pound and we buy it in l pound packages thus 4 sticks at a time. We can buy it in a 1 pound block but cannot not get this in every store. The sticks are marked off in tablespoons so are great for cooking. I think the sugar is one or our brown sugars. We also use Turbinado sugar which is raw sugar. This has a lot of the natural molasses left in it. It has a rich flavor and is very good in coffee and tea. We Americans love our sugar just like you do. Chris is in Colorado and I am in Indiana so she is using just a few different things. Where is Scotland are you located? I love your country and want to come again. I spent 1 whole week in Edinburgh by myself a few years ago. I enjoyed every second of it. Jenner's is wonderful and that sticky pudding there is to remember. Guest guest
hey ann here a stick of butter is a1/4 lb-err but that doesnt help you!! 1/2 cup...but I actually buy my butter in 1 pound blocks- Sucanat is a brand name for " sugar cane natural " - my favorite brand is rapunzel, and I think they are based in europe- good, natural brown sugar- not the refined and bleached stuff with molasses added back to it.... michelle - Ann <Ann Wednesday, October 10, 2001 5:06 AM Wooden bath scoops etc > Hello everyone > > I feel a bit guilty that I joined the group, got my wonderful rose oil > from the co-op, contributed just a tiny bit to the group and have then > been silent!
