Guest guest
Hi y'all, Lemme give you my edumocated opinion of this .. and that's all it is. Howsomever, I spent a few years as a Foreign Area/Political-Military Officer, negotiated with lots of friends who are now enemies and enemies who are now friends - so I sorta understand the workings of gummits. > Wow... good article.. and, Florida just had a second case of > Anthrax.........the person's been hospitalized, don't know if it's > terrorism or not, but the FBI's been brought in.............. I'll be real surprised if it is international terrorism .. might well be some crazy doing crap like spiking the aspirin bottles or whatever - if I were an international terrorist, I wouldn't blow my cover, intelligence efforts and surveillance just to infect a few folks - I'd do it right. > I have a question for anyone, especially Butch <?> - he may know... > which side is CHINA on??????????? Seems kinda important......and I > haven't heard anything one way or another... China is on China's side now .. China will go with the flow while keeping in mind their own national interests - which is exactly what the USA and every other country does. Gotta figure what China has to gain or lose by taking sides. First, they have a Moslem population that scares crap out of them .. they can keep the Buddhists down cause they are pacifists .. worst thing a Buddhist gonna do is burn himself up in public as a protest - but Moslems be a different animal so they watch them closely. This forces them to have to support anti-terrorist movements but not anti-Moslem movements .. even though they discourage religion, they know they can't be all that effective. China wants western technology .. means they can't upset the west - gotta act half way civilized - so we can count on them going along with the program .. not too much involvement but hanging on the fringes and making politically correct statements from time to time. China is now a bit concerned cause this thing has caused Uncle Sam and Russia to come closer .. Putin may decide to play ball with us in a big way. Heard him say something like .. when terrorists can strike the GREATEST NATION on earth, we must be concerned .. these are new words for sure coming from a Russian. How this affects the Chinese is yet to be seen but they surely don't want a US supported Russian Bear on their flanks .. they have always tried to stroke the bear .. but now the Bear seems to be cuddling with Uncle Sam. Will he continue to cuddle? Who knows .. such coalitions create strange bedfellows .. but I'd guess that Russia realizes that they don't need buffer states like the USSR had so there is really no reason to not join the rest of the world and grow. Look at Pakistan now - Dictator President General Pervez Musharraf is now walking a tight wire and that wimp ain't no circus star. His fanatics are pushing him on one side and Uncle Sugar on the other .. he has come out now with some weird crap - says the Northern Alliance cannot fill a void left by the Talaban .. horse manure! That's our plan and we're not gonna let that idjit change our minds just so he can save his own butt - if he goes down, he goes down .. and that might happen in the next 48 hours. You might ask ... what then? Well .. if he goes down I reckon it will be his Islamic fundamentalist supporting intelligence service that takes him down .. that COULD then make them just another of the many targets that the civilized world has now determined to strike .. President Bush is clear that we don't have to only increase security at home to preclude terrorists from doing their " Evil " deeds .. but we gotta go to them and those who harbor them and strike them there .. good thinking says I. Of maybe more important is the agreement twixt the USA and Russia to use limited power TACTICAL nukes IF it becomes necessary. Is this a bluff? Maybe! If I were a Talaban chief I'd take it as being serious. Limited power tactical nukes are not what most folks think .. they are not like the devastating weapons fired over islands in tests or in Japan during WWII .. they are nuke capable rounds fired from artillery pieces - they have a very limited range and are low yield. If fired to explode high up there is no fallout .. can't have fallout unless you disturb the soil. What you can do with a nuke is .. regardless of how high it is fired - totally destroy communications with Electromagnetic Pulse - it literally melts the wires on common equipment - vehicles too. The idea of using a nuke is more psychological than it is terrible .. you can lob a very high explosive conventional warhead from a 155MM howitzer and do more damage. Another interesting point is the Talibans threat to go into Uzbekistan. If they do that, the Turks will be on them like ugly on a warthog cause the Uzbeks are a Turkic people and Turkey takes care of it's own. Finally, I think two important questions remain. Will the USA go after Iraq? I think they will. Will the weak Islamic countries of the world be forced to pay attention to the radicals in their country and agree that this is a Holy War? Maybe. Is this really a Holy War? In order to be politically correct - I'll say it is not but there are those who want to make it appear so. Maybe we should tell it like it is and say that this PHASE of the operation to eliminate terrorist centers is devoted to Islamic terrorists because it is the Islamic terrorists who are acting stupid now .. the next phases - who knows? Gonna be interesting. ;-p Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > Thanks for the article, Chris, appreciate it. > > Hugs, > > Marilyn > > chrisziggy wrote: > > > Anthrax vaccine weighed > > But think tank won't offer it to employees > http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/america_under_attack/article/0,1299,DR > MN_664_840523,00.html > > By Jim Erickson, News Science Writer > > > > October 6, 2001
