I've been hanging out on email lists since 1994. I've been on both kinds. Call me crazy, but I prefer the groups with some controversy. Some good old-fashioned adult disagreement is good for the soul. :-) -- Sandy
Guest guest
Hi y'all, Someone asked how to join the Idma Aromatherapy List. If you want to join, the instructions are below. If you want to join a list where there is no controversy and folks play nice in Happy Happy Land I can recommend other lists that might be more appropriate - run a lot like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood .. ;-p You won't learn a lot there but you won't find anyone disagreeing on any subject. I've been a member of Idma for years - and intend to stay a member. I like the list because it is a self-policing list - much like we find in real life when we have to deal with a wide variety of people. If fact, the mood of the list is supposed to be similar to a group of people at a table having a discussion. I like different view points - if I'm at a table having a discussion and all I hear is bluebirds, mom and apple pie, I get bored and get up and leave. If you don't like intense replies from folks who often get emotional about aromatherapy then don't join the list .. there are always a few who are a bit more into the esoteric than others .. I find them amusing and I just chuckle and hit delete when I don't wanna watch their antics. There's a few who try to impress the folks by talking science ... nobody understands a word they say but it makes the writer feel good ... maybe they need an ego boost cause everyone who is a scientist is not necessarily a smart person - they're just educated and they like to read their own words. There are a couple of folks who can find an opportunity to market their products with any post .. they are compulsive marketeers and you gotta take what they say with a grain of salt. In fact, you wanna have fun just come up with your own wild ailment and see if they have experience dealing with it via one of their blends ... ;-p Now and then, we have a post from one of the small handful of folks who can best be described as raving maniacs .. the smart folks just hit the delete button but there will always be one or two who argue with the maniac .. there is danger in doing that as it might confuse folks as to who the real maniac is ... If you want to know all about the Idma Aromatherapy List .. just ask 10 folks and you'll probably get 11 opinions .. ;-) But if you want to learn about aromatherapy and essential oils you will find a lot of both on the Idma Aromatherapy List .. might be twixt other subjects but it will be there. I recko if we wanna see a rainbow we gotta stand a little rain. So - if you want to join the Idma Aromatherapy List ... To to the list, send a message to: aromatherapy- To remove your address from the list, send a message to: aromatherapy- There is no need for making an entry in the body of the message or the subject line of the message. See you there maybe .. ;-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.
