Guest guest
Sounds divine Chris! I just started making some soap myself, getting ready for the holidays. (I've only made 2 batches so far, and it's still " aging " so I haven't tried it yet.) It's something I've always had a passion to do, and am totally enthralled in it right now. It's something new and fresh in my life at the moment. I guess I should intro. myself here. ) I've been lurking for a few days. I've been a work at home Mom for over 2 years now, sewing and selling cloth diapers in my own little biz. I got wind of your group through a list I am on with another member of this group, and it sounds fascinating, as I am very interested in essential oils and the such for soap making. i thought i would join to become enlightened. ) Glad to be here. I look forward to learning some things. Guest guest
I won't give my EXACT recipe since it is a retail venture for me ... BUT I will give y'all the basics so you can go forth and make pumpkin soap I took my basic soap base recipe ..... for me that is about an 8 lb batch ..... (let me know if you need basic soap making instructions folks!) I reduced the water used to make the lye solution by about 10 oz. While that was cooling, I weighed out my oils and heated them to about 100 F. Then I added about 16 oz cooked, pureed pumpkin pulp to the oil and stirred it together well. I also made my essential oil blend which contained oils of spices found in pumpkin pie spice ... and then some - that was set aside to use when the soap traced After stirring my lye solution into the pumpkin/oil blend, and trace was reached I added pumpkin pie spices and my essential oils. It set for a couple days in the mold and is now sliced and curing *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alitleolfactory.com
